I will be speaking at the monthly meeting of the largest body of HR in #Nigeria and, by extension, the largest HR body in #Africa. My session will look at how #HR professionals can harness opportunities in #consulting. How they can be a #consultant as employees for their organizations thereby placing themselves on the table of value. #OgaHR
You are warmly invited to join us in this month's meeting. Mark your calendars and plan to attend this physical meeting.

Last week we held our monthly all-hands meeting. As always, we took the time to welcome new teammates and celebrate our colleagues’ birthdays (Diane May T. went swimming with turtles at a marine conservatory on her big day! 🐢) We also took some time to practice what we preach so often here on social media: we launched an internal experiment to help us design better products and features. 👩🏼🔬 Like any organization, each of us spends most of our working hours with colleagues in our own area. We want to ensure that our organization does not become siloed and that we are constantly learning from each other’s points of view. 🤔 So we divided into four cross-functional teams with representatives from each area within the company. For this first experiment, we will spend the next few weeks brainstorming ideas for making our products more lovable. 💖 We are excited about this transition in our way of thinking about how to achieve our collective goals and overcome challenges because we are running an experiment at two levels: 🙌🏼 Do these cross-functional teams help us collaborate better internally? 😍 Do new features help us create products that are of the highest value to our customers? We can’t wait to report back and let you know how it goes! ✨ Learn more at native.tech. Ben Lang Camila Reyes Camacho Lukas Novak

Holding an event for our entire team cost a lot. It took weeks of planning, finding a venue to hold us, and a lot of time and effort. But it’s helped our business significantly in the last few weeks. Because now everyone understands the ‘why’. I know that people bring their best when they understand the purpose of what they’re doing. Sure, they still need to get their tasks done. But taking time to help them understand the ‘why’ connects every project, every decision back to our bigger mission. This creates a shared sense of purpose between our teams. And helping teams understand might not be as grand an event as our roadshow was. It could be as simple as prioritising open discussions. Regularly updating your team on high level changes. Or just being consistent in your messaging. As long as you take the time out of your day to explain the strategy and connect the dots, they can understand the ‘why’. And, hopefully, helps each individual understand how they contribute to our mission.
