Today, 4 February is World Cancer Day. We should stand united in support of every individual touched by cancer—those bravely fighting, the survivors, and the loved ones we’ve lost. Among those deeply personal losses, I reflect on two cherished family members who battled breast cancer with immense courage. Their memories inspire us to advocate for ourselves and others, reminding us of the strength found in vulnerability and the power of community. In their honor, let’s renew our commitment to vigilance and self-awareness. Knowing your body, recognizing changes, and advocating for your health are crucial steps in early detection and prevention. Regular screenings and check-ups can be lifesaving, offering us not just a fighting chance but a pathway to thrive. To everyone facing this journey, you’re not alone. Your resilience lights the way for others, turning personal battles into a collective source of hope. Let’s embrace each day with purpose, support one another unconditionally, and champion the cause of health advocacy. Movember is an incredible movement that aims to raise awareness and funds for men's health issues, specifically prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and suicide prevention. It encourages men to grow mustaches during the month of November to spark conversations and promote action in these areas. One of the reasons why I wholeheartedly support Movember is because it brings attention to often overlooked health issues that affect men. Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men worldwide, and testicular cancer is the most common cancer in young men. By raising awareness and funds, Movember helps to support research, education, and support programs that can save lives and improve the quality of life for those affected by these diseases. https://lnkd.in/gQj5tkn4 #nottolatetodonate #movember2023

🎇 Today, we celebrate Universal Children's Day! A moment when we promote togetherness and raise awareness of challenges facing children, like childhood cancers, around the world. We are continuing to fight advance treatment and care, especially for those most vulnerable and in need.   The "Home Away from Home" initiative by Childhood Cancer International and Foundation S aims to help children to find a moment of joy by providing a second home for them and their caregivers near health services. 2024: Together, we challenge those in power The last year of our campaign is all about bringing attention to a higher level—literally. We will raise our voices to engage our leaders. Now that we have knowledge and a united community by our side, we are ready to shake the very foundations of injustice—to become lifelong advocates fully equipped to push for lasting change. Together, we will make sure our leaders know that we demand a commitment to prioritising cancer, to creating innovative strategies designed to confront inequity and to investing our resources to achieve a just and cancer-free world. We will call on leaders to eliminate health inequities by addressing their root causes, ensuring that everyone has access to quality health services when, where and how they need them. This World Cancer Day, what will you do about the gaps in cancer care? 

🎗 Today 15 February we are turning yellow to celebrate International #ChildhoodCancer Day. Globally, more than 400,000 children fall ill with #cancer every year. About 80% live in low-income countries, where not even 20% of patients survive the disease. In developed countries, by contrast, more than 80% of children recover from cancer and can resume a normal life. This Day is intended to promote issues and challenges relevant to childhood cancer and highlight the impact it has on children and adolescents, those who are cured, their families and society as a whole. 🌻 The important goal is to shed light on the need to ensure more equitable access to treatment and care for all children with cancer, everywhere in the world. #internationalchildoodcancerday #supportforchildren
