It's #LearningDisabilityWeek! Each year, the third week of June is dedicated to celebrating Learning Disability Week—a time to raise awareness and understanding about learning disabilities. Mencap is an organisation that provides personalised support to people with learning disability across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Their aim is to help make the UK the best place for people with a learning disability to live happy and healthy lives. The theme for this year's Learning Disability Week is "Do you see me?" “Do you see me?” is about people with a learning disability being seen, heard and valued. Being valued means that people are respected by others, and their views and feelings are listened to. If you would like to get involved in Learning Disability Week, you can: 💜 Campaign with Mencap to challenge the barriers that people with learning disabilities face and help spread awareness of Learning Disability Week. Mencap offers valuable resources for individuals with learning disabilities seeking employment, as well as for their parents, carers, and employers interested in hiring people with learning disabilities.
