🇺🇲A Symbol of History, Values, and Identity🇺🇸 In every corner of the United States, the sight of the American flag evokes a deep sense of pride and unity. But beyond its vibrant colors and starry field lies a profound symbol that encapsulates the nation's rich history, enduring values, and collective identity. The journey of the American flag is as diverse and dynamic as the nation it represents. Originally, the "Grand Union Flag" flew over the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War, blending British and American elements. It was only on June 14, 1777, that the Continental Congress officially adopted the Stars and Stripes, featuring 13 stars and 13 stripes. This design was a revolutionary declaration of unity among the original colonies. As America expanded, so did the flag. Each new star added to the blue field reflects a state’s entry into the Union, while the stripes remind us of our original 13 colonies. The flag’s current design, established in 1960, is a testament to our country's growth and our commitment to inclusivity and unity. The American flag stands as a powerful representation of the values we hold dear: The 50 stars and 13 stripes symbolize the unification of states and the collaboration that forms the backbone of democracy. It represents the liberty and independence that are foundational to our way of life, a reminder of the freedoms we cherish and protect. The flag embodies the democratic ideals upon which the nation was built, reflecting the principles of justice and equality.The flag serves not only as a symbol of national pride but also as a source of inspiration. Twelve years ago, my life’s trajectory changed forever. It was a beautiful spring day, much like today. There was a letter waiting for me from The Terry Foundation. Within that letter, the Directors informed me that I was selected to receive the Terry Foundation Scholarship to attend the The University of Texas at Austin. Wow. The Lord is good. The Lord is kind. Terry Scholars—as we’re aptly called—are some of the brightest individuals I have ever met. Terry Scholars are selected based on their academic achievement, financial need, community involvement, demonstrated leadership, and most importantly—their willingness to give back. At the end of every interview, every candidate is asked ~the~ question: “Are you willing to give back?” Give back what? Give back to whom? Give back once, twice…seventy-seven times? As Mr. Terry said, “Success is the accomplishment of the goals you’ve set for yourself.” Every Terry Scholar answers the “give back” question by virtue of the life they lead, particularly on this day—#TerryGiveBackDay When I started at Texas A&M University School of Law, I knew that I wanted to give back to the community that raised me. I wanted to become the kind of lawyer that cares deeply for his clients; that works hard to provide peace of mind. Why? Because that's what my community taught me. My community set me on the path to receive that letter 12 years ago. Teachers. Coaches. Counselors. Pastors. Church members. Friends. Everything I’ve accomplished is a result of their support, guidance, and encouragement. Happy 4th of July! Today, the United States celebrates Independence Day, a significant holiday that commemorates the country's freedom. One of the most iconic symbols associated with this festive occasion is the American flag, also known as the Stars and Stripes or Old Glory. The flag has a rich history deeply rooted in American culture and holds immense significance. The American flag's origins can be traced back to June 14, 1777, when the Second Continental Congress officially adopted its design. The flag consisted of thirteen alternating red and white stripes, representing the original thirteen colonies, along with a blue field adorned with thirteen white stars, symbolizing a new constellation. As the United States expanded over the years, the flag evolved to incorporate additional stars, each representing a new state. Beyond its visual representation, the American flag carries profound symbolism. It serves as a powerful emblem of national unity, identity, and pride and embodies the fundamental principles upon which the nation was built, such as freedom, democracy, and resilience. #4thofjuly #independenceday #americanflag

A Very Happy Monday to all! 🌞…..‘March Forth’ day! For me, I am today reflecting on a past 4th March event which causes me to smile broadly, be incredibly positive and feel really happy indeed.👌🏼😁 Significantly, it is also the only day on the calendar that is a command, “March Forth". It's a command to move forward, make progress, stop holding back! So let's not only celebrate the past, but also embrace the powerful message hidden within the date itself. As we embark on the rest of the week, let's march forth with determination, productivity, and the intention to create even more shared memories and success for the future. Each day can present us with new business possibilities, whether it's tackling challenging projects, fostering collaboration, or seeking innovative solutions. If we march forth with purposeful actions, we can achieve remarkable outcomes. Let us also take a moment to acknowledge some historic events that occurred on previous 4th of Marchs. It's truly fascinating how this date has witnessed significant milestones throughout history. Allow me to share a few: •On 4th March 1390, the famous poet Geoffrey Chaucer, author of "The Canterbury Tales," was appointed as the Clerk of the King's Works in England. •Moving ahead to 4th March 1681, King Charles II granted a charter to William Penn, establishing the colony of Pennsylvania in America. This event marked the beginning of the Quaker settlement in the ‘New World’. •Another noteworthy event on 4th March occurred in 1861, the British Parliament took significant steps toward the abolition of the death penalty. The number of civilian capital crimes in England was reduced to just five. It was a pivotal moment in the evolution of legal and human rights principles in the UK. So today, let’s reflect on the past, honour the achievements, and devise new innovative business solutions that create even more shared memories and success for the future.
