OECD The Climate Action Monitor 2024 [7 November 2024] https://lnkd.in/gk2FtQ_h The Climate Action Monitor is the annual flagship publication of the International Programme for Action on Climate (IPAC). Building on the IPAC Dashboard of climate-related indicators, it provides insights on global climate action and progress towards net-zero targets for 51 OECD and OECD partner countries. This year's edition presents a comprehensive evaluation of net-zero targets, major climate-related hazards, and the key trends in climate action. Directed towards policy makers and practitioners, the findings suggest that current 2030 commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions are not ambitious enough to meet the Paris Agreement temperature goals, and that without a significant expansion in national climate action, countries will not be able to meet the net-zero challenge.

If Trump continues his previous polices, such as withdrawing from Paris Agreement on Climate Change and The UNFCCC it is likely (projected by the Carbon Brief) that the US could emit an estimated additional 4 billion tons of carbon to the atmosphere in the next 5 years. To put it the other way this estimated emission is equivalent to the combined emissions of 140 developing countries of the world by the year 2030. Climate Change is a Global challenge, America’s indifference at this very crucial stage could have serious repercussions for the world.
