Today we are closing out OSHA's annual National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction Week. As part of CCC Group's participation in this national event we held additional toolbox talks and safety meetings on job sites and extended our safety sessions to all of our office-based team members in our corporate and regional offices. Some of the topics we covered in the field were: falls from ladders, the right lanyard length and rescue, while in the office, we focused on trip hazards, correct footwear and distraction. At CCC Group, we appreciate additional opportunities like this week to reinforce safety practices and to keep safety both in the field and in the office at our forefront. #CCCGCrew #WorkingTogether #industrialconstruction #safety #safetyinconstruction #ConstructionSafetyWeek #ConstructionIndustry #ConstructionSafety

The Work at Height Regulations (WAHR) 2005, is a set of rules that govern how work at height is conducted. These are some of the most important regulations the scaffolding and roofing industries have The WAHR prioritises the implementation of effective measures to prevent falls from height. Employers must comply with these regulations to ensure they are fulfilling their legal obligations and protecting their employees from harm. They also emphasise the importance of conducting thorough risk assessments to identify and prioritise potential fall hazards. They also detail the prioritisation of collective protection measures like guard rails, scaffolding, or fall arrest systems. Additionally, they mandate the provision and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including helmets, harnesses, and footwear. Here at Embassy, we tailor our training to enforce these important regulations as well as work with our partners to ensure every staff member is training to the correct standard through Embassy Academy. I am concerned about the safety practices shown in the video. It appears that steel bars are being manually lifted from the ground to the 14th floor (approximately 42 meters) using a human chain, which poses a significant risk of serious injury or death. Here are some essential safety recommendations: Always use appropriate lifting equipment: A material hoist or crane should be used to safely lift and transport heavy steel bars. Avoid attempting manual lifting for such materials. Fall protection: Workers should wear safety harnesses and be connected to secure anchor points at all times while working at heights. Personal protective equipment (PPE): All workers should wear helmets, safety glasses, gloves, and sturdy footwear at all times on construction sites. Barricades: A wide barricade should be installed around the lifting area to prevent anyone from coming into contact with the moving bars or falling debris. Safety training: All workers on construction sites should receive proper training on safe work practices, including proper lifting techniques, fall protection, and the use of PPE. It is critical to prioritize safety in all construction activities. Implementing these recommendations can significantly reduce the risk of accidents and ensure the well-being of all workers. Additionally, I encourage that we all must report any unsafe practices to the appropriate authorities. Reporting can help prevent future accidents and protect workers' safety. #civilengineering #safteyfirst #construction
