Over the past decade, Pennacool's Reward and Recognition programs, generously supported by visionary corporate partners investments in the future of Trinidad and Tobago, have left an indelible mark on the educational landscape. The positive transformation witnessed in students, captured beautifully in the attached image of a beaming student proudly holding two certificates of achievement, goes beyond academic growth. It extends to fostering a profound sense of accomplishment and self-worth. Not only have these programs made students happier and more engaged, but they've also become a source of joy for parents. Witnessing their children flourish academically is undoubtedly a cause for celebration. Moreover, the programs have created a ripple effect, alleviating the fears and insecurities of parents whose children were once struggling. Let's not forget our incredible educators! With effective reward systems in place, teachers find a positive teaching-learning environment, where classroom management becomes smoother. This directly contributes to teachers' well-being, ensuring they can focus on delivering impactful lessons. Here's to a decade of inspiring achievements and looking forward to more successes ahead!

As strange as it might sound, there will never be decolonisation In Ireland unless non institutionalised narratives are given their platforms. We cannot decolonise any discipline without understanding institutions and we cannot decolonise institutions without understanding their systems and we cannot decolonise the systems without understanding the colonial mentality and we cannot decolonise the colonial mentality without understanding its origins and we cannot decolonise the origins without understanding its foundation. It is difficult to see the inside from the outside and it is difficult to see the outside from the inside. When will people understand that Ireland is psychologically colonised and historical traumatised. Many countries were colonised and we know much on these historical events and while painful as they are also inspiring how people can be so forgiving. Ireland got colonised almost 1000 years and five centuries of conquests/oppression thereafter. It had almost wiped half of its population on a small island. There was genocide after genocide, starvation, famines and a lot of scorched earth. Generation after generation traumatised, dehumanised and othered to death. That was in the past, it was long, long gone and it shouldn't effect any of us in the present in any way. But It is not history for Irish Travellers, its our living experiences, our cultural experiences, historical experiences and history and present are all the one. No decolonising anything if we can't acknowledge the colonial elephant in the room. Traveller/Settled/Working Class are colonial labels from colonial language, from a colonial mentality and still used in unchanged colonial institutions. Ireland had its history backwards and its killing people. Travellers/Tinkers/Itinerants/Nomads/Wilde Irish/Gallowglass/Bards/Enemy of the Empire = Gaels. Who are Settled Irish and why are they using English colonial institutions, words, attitude and mentality of the coloniser? We are only exploiting vulnerable communities without addressing these issues. #ThereBeNoPeaceInTheColony

Let’s continue our countdown of the top CTE policy trends in 2023! Climbing from 10th place in 2022, governance is the fourth most common policy area for CTE-related policies in 2023, with 17 states enacting 24 policies. This category includes newly created agencies, councils, and committees and the transfer of authority among agencies or departments. STATE HIGHLIGHT: Idaho established the Idaho Career Ready Students Program to expand early access to CTE opportunities. The initiative will have access to $10 million to offer grants and $5 million in funding for middle school career exploration activities.
