I remember a project I did last year where the bending tool had to bend a complex shape and my team and I spent countless hours trying to make that tool work. We were working against the clock as the product needed to be in the market ASAP, almost thougth I was going to lose my job 😂 but we made it work. From that experience I leanred that: I would ask product design Engineers to please liaise with tool designers and manufacturers with their designs to see if there are easier ways to achieve what they are looking for. When designing always keep in Mind: Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly. It makes other department's job slightly better.
