Big shout out to these 6 inspectors that passed the exam to become Certified Public Infrastructure Inspectors through APWA. This is a 3.5 hour exam that covers Underground Construction, At-Grade Construction, Structural Construction, General Construction Fundamentals, Project Planning and Management, Project Compliance and Documentation, Testing and Measurement. Over the last three years, we were excited to see many new development projects in virtually all markets and all asset classes. We are also seeing that investors are proactively partnering with developers to purchase development sites for entitlement and planning of projects so that they are prepared to go vertical when economic conditions become more favorable. We assist many of our clients by performing project feasibility reviews during the pre-development process, prior to the acquisition of the site, to identify any significant issues that could impede development.    The feasibility review is typically conducted at the initial stages of the project prior to land acquisition and during project configuration. This review includes a comprehensive review of the entitlement and zoning, flood and seismic conditions, utility availability, offsite requirements, site geotechnical and environmental findings, schematic drawings and specifications, and preliminary schedules, budget, and contract documents.   This a valuable process because it allows our clients to quickly understand the technical risk of a development going into the land transaction, which could delay the opportunistic start of a project or result in significant unforeseen costs.

Several factors contribute to float loss, including: - Out of sequence or inefficient working - Poor resource management - Resource shortages - Inappropriate plant selections - Underestimated scope of work - Overestimated outputs and crew efficiency - Omitted key tasks - Overoptimistic lead times - Scope changes or variations - Additional works - Poor workmanship The impact of float loss on schedule can be significant, leading to financial losses due to extended resource needs, even if it doesn't cause a critical delay. Delay analysis should consider both critical delays and float deterioration to ensure project success.
