This weekend, we’re going to race across more than 200 miles through 15 towns on Cape Cod with up to 20-pounds on our backs… Sure, it SUCKS, but do you know what SUCKS even more? It SUCKS to lose someone you love because there were no programs or services available for veterans, who suffered silently after active duty. According to recent surveys, almost 44 veterans kill themselves each day – and that’s 44 veterans a day way too many. The unintended consequences cut deep, reach far and last forever. No one should ever have to experience it, but, unfortunately, many do. How can we help? I am so proud of the work my classmates (Jessica Whitney, MBA, Millie Hale, → Cristina P., Bradford Waldie, Austin McKinney, Stephan Azab, and Jordan Craft) and I have done creating the 2010 Endowment for Cadet Morale with the Air Force Academy Foundation and Association of Graduates - U.S. Air Force Academy. $0.93 per dollar donated to the Class of 2010 Endowment for Cadet Morale goes directly to the cadets. So, for every $20.10 monthly donation, $18.69 is provided to the fund monthly. Since its inception in 2020, seven cadet squadrons have received $5,000 to spend however they see fit. We have seen improvements to SARs, Top Golf parties, video game system purchases, squadron bars created, and restaurant outings (Raising Canes and Chiptole). We make a tangible impact on cadets at USAFA every semester. As a class, we don't micromanage how cadets spend the money. The winning squadron AOC works with their cadet leadership to create an initial proposal for how the funds are spent, including an itemized breakdown. USAFA and the Association and Foundation review this proposal, and then once approved, the Association and Foundation work directly with the cadet leadership to purchase the items. You do not need to be in the Class of 2010 to contribute—everyone is welcome to join our team dedicated to helping cadets currently at USAFA raise their morale in a way that is authentic to their current desires. A greatly positive change in my professional opinion, suits the current climate very well.

There are many good causes to support, let me give you three reasons to support this: 1. The Halo Trust does amazing work in countries that have been blighted by landmines, often this work goes on for decades. There is not just a human cost with landmines, there is an economic and societal cost for those impacted countries and communities. 2. The record for cycling Land's End to John O'Groats is 41 hrs , the average punter will do it in about 10 to 14 days - 4 days is impressive! 3. “Our fear is overcome by our conscience and our beliefs and forces us to act." - John McCain My son Rex is one of the youngest participating in this year’s New York City SEAL Swim to raise money for The Navy SEAL Foundation which provides critical support for the warriors, veterans, and families of Naval Special Warfare. This event consists of a mile run at the start, a total of 3.5 miles of swimming broken up by 3 stations where they complete 100 honor pushups and 22 pull ups, and a final mile run at the end to the World Trade Center. Happy Veterans Day! We should all take a moment to reflect on what we can do to support veterans everywhere. How can we use our votes, our time, our charitable contributions, and our personal relationships to support our warriors after they come home. The sacrifice most people think about happens on the battlefield, but the sacrifices veterans make doesn't stop there. And so we must raise awareness and fight for the rights and wellness of those who were willing to fight for us. Give them comfort, support, and care. Respect their sacrifice with more than words because they honored their commitment to us with more than words. And stand by them even when it would be more easy to look the other way or forget the incredible gift they gave us, to live free and at peace. Consider this, over the ~20 years our troops were at war in Afghanistan, we lost 6, 241 U.S. lives on the battlefield. However, the more striking statistic is when you discover that we currently are losing more veterans to suicide every year, than that total number of battlefield casualties over 20 years. Between 16-22 veterans are lost to suicide every single day and have been for every day since 2001 when the war on terror began. This is the cost of war and this is why we must do better to support our veterans after they come home. [Update] Its been awhile - hope you all are doing well. Here is what I've been up to since the update. 1: Looking for Business Grant(s) - not loans - to upgrade hardware, and home business area. 2: Project 01 with Error 4444 is 1990s Run And Kill and will be released soon. 3: Project 03 with Error 4444 is 1990s Red To Kill and will be completed within 2 weeks. This is the first film where I have done artifact/damage cleanup plus color restoration. Before and After samples will be shared once we get permission to do so. Private Non Commercial Projects: 1: 16mm ABC tv's Beatles at Shea Stadium including commercial breaks. (Black and White copy print) - it is rumored that a few songs were replaced with studio tracks due to technical difficulties. If this is found true, we hope to restore the original live line feed to marry the performance with the audio (which we have already in house). 2: 16mm Italian Produced 1978s animated Pinocchio (Full color) - researching copyrights in the US for this one and if the cleanup goes well may pursue marketing this restoration. Hello, everyone! I know it's been a moment, and I want to update you on some exciting news. As many of you know, I have a thing for resiliency running and fundraising. So, I've decided to team up with the Marine Reconnaissance Foundations' (MRF) Athletics Program. As a member of the Endurance Team, we'll support the MRF mission by raising money to "provide emergency and recurring support, and related programs, to active-duty, reserve, retired, and former Reconnaissance Marines and Sailors, and their families." Is it tax deductible? Heck yeah, because the MRF is a 501(c)(3)! What does it all entail you ask? Well, 3 Lines of Effort focus on 1) Deliberate & Reoccuring Programs, 2) Emergent or Emergency Support, and 3) Promote & Preserving the Reconnaissance Legacy. There are a lot of sub-points under these, which is why I'm adding a few slides below to aid in understanding; DMing works too! You may ask, why is this important to you, Jay? And, I'll tell you this: Throughout my active & retired years, I have witnessed this organization provide support when the service couldn't do it promptly. There are instances where unique rules delay family members from traveling (air, train, rental car, etc...) to their loved ones. In other instances, financial support was provided to families that had lost their service members. Instances like these are where the MRF steps in. The MRF can disperse funds to those families; getting them to where they need to be or helping relieve some financial burdens. Please, help me reach my goal for them and myself. Like before, I'll be training and competing in a few races. As of now, I have the GA Jewel 35miler on 21 September in Dalton, GA. Then, the Spartan Ultra on 16 November in Newberry, SC.
