This week, May 6-12, is National Nurses Week. Celebrate by recognizing the challenges faced by nurses and the importance of supporting their wellbeing. According to a study by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, around 100,000 registered nurses left the workforce in the past two years, with another 700,000 intending to leave by 2027. The heart of the issue is chronic understaffing, coupled with feelings of being undervalued and overworked. Healthcare organizations must listen and act. Building interprofessional teams with ease | Bridging science to practice | Team development strategies | Patient Advocate | Let's build high performing teams together!
I had no idea about the full scope of practice of ambulatory nurses. So let's learn together. If you are an ambulatory nurse, please share 1 thing you wish others knew about your profession. Their national organization (AAACN) states ambulatory nurses are 👉🏽 RNs who care for high volumes of patients in short periods of time 👉🏽 Specifically, nurse-patient encounters in clinical settings can occur once or as a series of occurrences, are usually less than 24 hours in length, and occur in single or group settings. Celebrate by tagging your Ambulatory Nurse colleague(s) in the comments! #interprofessional #bettertogether #collaborateforhealth #ambcarenurse24

Because I got your attention, let’s talk more about RN pay and how cost of living affects over all pay for nurses. In this video, I showed the RN pay per state adjusted for cost of living by Becker’s Hospital Review. Remember that these are mean state wages and your specific location may be higher or lower than these rates. Now let’s address the elephant in the room: should nurses make more considering the breadth of responsibilities and liability associated with our practice? #payraise #wages #equalpay #healthcare #registerednurse #RN #NCLEX #NCLEXRN #nclextips #nclexprep #nextgennclex #NGN #nclexstudy
