Space-based solutions are paving the way for a faster green transition. But it's time to take it a step further and focus on the triple transition: green, digital, and society. To achieve this, we must find new partnership models that implement tailored solutions owned by users, ensuring their sustainability. This is a short summary of the interesting discussion held today in #Paris at European Space Agency - ESA HQ, where I had the chance (and honor) to participate! Let's work together to create a better future for everyone. #GreenTransition #DigitalTransition #SocietyTransition #PartnershipModels #SustainableSolutions #SpaceAsEnabler

Last Friday and Saturday, I had was invited to participate to the Joint Working Group (JWG) meeting in #Cotonou ahead of the 16th EUMETSAT User Forum in Africa. The group was established to follow up on the #AbidjanDeclaration concerning the new generation of satellite products for weather services in Africa, signed in 2018. Following the introductory remarks of AUC who chairs the group, I introduced the upcoming actions to support the implementation of the Declaration as part of the Africa-EU space partnership programme. The actions have been co-designed with AUC colleagues and needs further inputs from the community, users and beneficiaries, in the spirit of further co-create and co-shape the partnership. This amazing community is truely engaged to increase society #resilience by strengthening #EarlyWarning systems to the benefit of the citizens! .. and the EU is strongly committed to support them. Thank you very much to the group for the invitation and to #Eumetsat and Vincent Gabaglio for the excellent organisation! #ClimateResilience #EarlyWarning #AfricaEUSpacePartnershipProgramme #Space4EarlyWarning #SustainableDevelopment

Excited to be in the driving seat of “Space4Early Warning in Africa” initiative and to support the strengthening of early warning systems in Africa building on solid EU investments such as #Copernicus and extensive EU expertise such as #ECMWF and #EUMETSAT ! A big thank to #EUMETSAT for the invitation to what will be my “first” EUMETSAT User Forum in Africa. See you all in #Cotonou!
🌍 Space for Early Warning in Africa 🌍 In two weeks, 150 participants will gather in Cotonou, Benin, for the 16th EUMETSAT User Forum in Africa. 🛰️ The first Meteosat Third Generation (MTG) data are now being broadcasted to Africa via EUMETCast. 📡 The @AucClimsa has started deploying PUMA-2025 stations in each Sub-Saharan country, enabling forecasters to access and interpret the satellite data. (link to this story https://lnkd.in/eF-DR56z) 🚨 This Forum will be a platform to discuss how MTG data can enhance Early Warnings for Extreme Weather Events in Africa.
