📢 Urgent Call to Action: Supporting San Diego’s Aging Population Boom From 2020 to 2023, San Diego’s 65+ population grew by 9%, while all other age groups shrank. This shift demands urgent infrastructure changes to support seniors’ needs in housing, transportation, and healthcare. San Diego and several local cities have joined AARP’s Age-Friendly Network, committing to making our communities more livable for seniors. However, none of our cities rank among the top 25 most livable. The San Diego Seniors Community Foundation is dedicated to addressing and supporting these challenges through philanthropy and advocacy. Join us in creating a more age-friendly San Diego. 🌟 https://lnkd.in/deghGpwP #NoSeniorAlone #SanDiego #AgeFriendly #Community #Seniors #Infrastructure #SeniorCenters #SelfDrivingCarsforSeniors #Grandparentsraisinggrandkids

Equity is a major focus on the King County Park's Volunteer Program. Our volunteer events are heavily focused in unincorporated King County as those areas have long been neglected. Communities like White Center and Skyline have long been considered for annexation to local cities like Seattle and Burien without ever actually ever being annexed. With these communities in limbo for decades they have long been under-resourced, including the parks. You can also look at the demographics of these residential areas and see that they mirror many other situations of inequity where communities of color and lower household incomes have fewer social services than whiter and richer neighborhoods. This winter 5 of our 11 public Saturday events are in White Center. These are also the parks that we most often suggest to corporate or community groups when they are looking for sites. Not only are we investing in the physical and natural structure of the park each time we have an event, but we are also investing in the community and its individuals each time we have volunteers come out. #equity #whitecenter #volunteer #forestrestoration #urbanforestry

Every year we conduct a census to count the total number of #GirlGuiding and #GirlScouting members globally – this helps tell the story of our Movement in different parts of the world🌍. 📢 The data is in, and the numbers have been crunched – our latest census shows we have reached an amazing 10,792,399 members in 153 countries and territories! ⬆ This represents a significant 21.5% increase from the previous year, and the largest membership in our history👏! It also surpasses our pre-Covid 2019 census figure by 7.5%, indicating a strong recovery since the pandemic caused disruption to the delivery of #GirlGuiding and #GirlScouting around the world 😷. We would like to say a huge #THANKYOU to all our member organisations for taking part in this latest census, and to all our wonderful #volunteers around the world who deliver remarkable #GirlGuiding and #GirlScouting experiences. The results are testament to the continuing relevance and attractiveness of #GirlGuiding and #GirlScouting to girls and young women across the world. As North Carolina undergoes rapid urbanization, its political landscape stands at a crossroads, with implications extending far beyond statewide elections. The state’s evolution from a state that has leaned conservative in recent years to one poised to become a true battleground reflects the profound impact of urbanization on its politics. The numbers tell a compelling story: North Carolina sees an annual migration of 100,000 to 120,000 individuals, the majority of whom settle in urban areas. The 2020 census revealed that 50% of these migrants choose to call Wake and Mecklenburg counties home, concentrating political influence in these urban hubs and reshaping the state’s demographics while challenging traditional political norms.
New era of urbanization in NC to have profound impact on 2024 elections and beyond

The third Women’s Rough Sleeping Census launches today! In partnership with Solace Women's Aid we are launching the third Women’s Rough Sleeping Census, which will take place in over 55 locations across England. Women are under-represented in rough sleeping statistics and provision. Yet research, lived experience, and the experiences of services tell us that women are some of the most vulnerable within the rough sleeping population. That’s why Single Homeless Project and Solace, together with a coalition of homelessness and women’s sector organisations and local authorities, now conduct a census of women sleeping rough. We know that if we can use gender-informed techniques to reach and speak to women, we can build an evidence base to make sure that women are receiving the support that they need to exit homelessness for good. In last year’s census, we spoke to 815 women across 41 local authorities. We hope to speak to even more women this year and continue to advocate for changes for women. The census runs until Sunday, September 29th. Thank you to all the organisations, practitioners, and women participating this week! Guiding people to become the person their heart has been calling them to be. | Founder, Author, Speaker, Facilitator, Guide, Humanitarian, Visionary.
The power of global alliances and partnerships allows people the opportunity to make an impact and transform lives. Through our social impact focus, Wellth Living has partnered with a Costa Rican community-led organization to bring systemic change to their community. With #ESG and #SDG impact measures, we present to you our 2024 Costa Rican Community-Led Development Project. To get this project started, the first focus is to conduct a formal census for the community. The last credible census took place in 2011, and planning and funding of critical resources based on projections from this census are woefully inadequate and inaccurate due to the explosive growth in the district. The objective of the 2024 Census will be to provide updated and detailed data about population and housing characteristics in the district thereby strengthening democratic governance and advancing the rule of law. Due to lack of support from the Costa Rican government, brave and courageous community leaders are on a mission to conduct this census project to help bring systemic change to a currently grim time within the district. Today, we are asking for your support to bring this project to life and make it a reality for the community. We anticipate that the project will require 20 months for completion. Should you be interested in supporting this community-led development project in Costa Rica through your generosity and giving, please message me directly so I can share more details about this project and how your monetary contribution will impact this community for generations to come. In Wellth, Beth #socialimpact #socialchange #communitydevelopment #impactgiving #corporategiving #donoradvisedfunds #partnershipsforchange
