TRUE - - - It is time, isn't it?
TIP: our only point of 'control' is the present. 🕒
If we wait for 'someone else' to take a stand or push back against dishonorable behavior, nothing will change. Over nearly a decade, I've witnessed and experienced what I define as 'Systemic Avoidance of Duty' (SAD) within Management, HR, and Unions. 😔
The truly SAD aspect is that those who perpetuate this toxicity may not realize how much better their work and career experiences could be. It often functions as a trauma response. We should expect and demand more from those entrusted with 'The Public Trust,' especially when they violate that trust. ⚖️
It has to stop. The data supports this. There's no cost savings or financial benefit to maintaining a toxic environment—it merely reinforces undiagnosed narcissism or sociopathy among those in power, who pretend to be 'doing their job' when they are not. 🚫
Transforming toxic operations into healthy environments is always a win:win. The problem is, those guilty are afraid of being exposed. From a POTU perspective, demanding punitive measures only perpetuates 'Structural Violence'. We need to make it safe for change to happen. The problem with SAD is that it's all about using 'force' and abusing 'power', rather than stewarding power to create a non-toxic environment. 💪
When refusal to end toxicity persists, external oversight and litigation become necessary for positive change, which should be unnecessary among fair-minded and reasonable people. If policy and justice fail, depending on the severity of the harm caused, human beings eventually rebel when they lose faith in the systems supposedly preventing SAD. 🔥
We enjoy fictions like 'The Punisher' and 'The Equalizer' because they address unchecked corruption that leads to toxic, and eventually criminal, activities. Such corruption evolves when we fail to challenge SAD in our lives, work, and careers. Being a business owner, for example, does not grant the right to be abusive. 👊
We have a lot of work to do. It begins by each of us taking personal responsibility to expose, challenge, and say 'no' to SAD when it shows up. It also involves documenting events in support of those targeted and being an honorable 'witness' to those who dare to stand against it. 🛡️
Too many people are waiting for 'someone else' to act, while merely complaining. That does not work. 💬
