Complex drug sensing functions from a simple approach. Allison Selinger and Joana Krämer (visiting from the Biedermann lab) show how “systems” built by combining two well-known hosts can broaden the scope of analytes. As a truly unexpected emergent property, Co-assembled hosts can even sense drugs that are invisible to either component on its own! This allows classification of real world street drug samples, made possible by collaboration with the Canadian Institute for Substance Use Research (CISUR): thx Eric Poarch and Dennis Hore. https://lnkd.in/gqfnKuen

Did you miss the TIDES US pre-conference workshops? 🤔 Yesterday, we were thrilled to have Laurin Melzig, Priska Frei and Jamie Brugnano share their expertise on three crucial topics! Here's a glimpse into what they covered: 🌟 Dr. Laurin Melzig tackled the crucial issue of mitigating risks associated with nitrosamine impurities in drug substances, a topic of increasing industry concern. 🌟 Dr. Prisca Frei shed light on how to think about analytical method development and it's interactive role in understanding both processes and products. 🌟 Dr. Jamie Brugnano offered valuable insights into the regulatory framework for peptides, using a captivating case study to explore (in)consistency in guideline application. But don't worry, the conversation doesn't end there! The #PeptideTalk continues at TIDES US! Visit us today at booth #415 for a coffee ☕ and connect with our team to learn more about these topics and more. #PeptideAPI #IndustryLeaders #TIDES

Head of Advanced Drug Delivery at AstraZeneca. Drug Delivery Scientist at R&D Boston (Located in Waltham, MA)
Excellent ACS Nano article on coated #nanoparticles of insoluble drugs for #intravenous administration. The authors from #AdvancedDrugDelivery AstraZeneca and beyond in the science community (Gustav Emilsson, Kai Liu, Fredrik Höök, Lena Svensson, Louise Rosengren, Lennart Lindfors and Kalle Sigfridsson) studied various polycathecholamine coatings vs the protein corona in circulation and found that especially a fibrinogen corona gave rise to rapid clearance. Fundamental article for nano particle design and a very worthwhile/enjoyable read. https://lnkd.in/ewxbcbuT

That’s an Amazing Pyramid Diagram! Impressive & & eye catching Pyramid representation of all the available, up coming and previously tried Biologics and small molecules for HS & Psoriasis. This is from an Excellent paper from Italy reviewing co-existent Psoriasis & HS. Needless to say coexistent HS & Psoriasis is so difficult for Patients, and significantly affects the quality of life. The paper have very clearly reviewed available pubmed articles on co-existent HS & Psoriasis, and also highlights the difficulty on quality of life measures for the patients. Exclent work! and very needed review highlighting need of even better treatments when these 2 conditions co-exist. Congratulations! on this Amazing work to the Authors : Laura Macca @ Frederica Li Pomi Ylenia Ingrasciotta PIETRO Morrone Gianluca Trifirò Claudio Guarneri Hidradenitis Suppurativa Foundation, Inc. I am very happy to see the adoption of our novel technologies enabling new therapies to come to market which meet unmet patient needs. Our strategy at Bio-Works Technologies has been to develop products which meet the unique needs of new modalities in the biopharmaceutical space, and this scale-up order from the team at Nemysis Ltd is nice evidence that this strategy is aligned with the current and future needs of the industry. Purifying new modalities with resins that were designed decades ago for what was then the latest generation of biopharmaceuticals is like connecting your brand new computer with 1 Gbps WiFi to a dial-up modem—it may work, but it's inefficient and limits the chances of maximizing the return on the investment that you've made.
🙏 To kick-off 2024, we are proudly announcing a scale-up order from Nemysis Ltd as they scale-up clinical production of a therapeutic candidate that targets gastrointestinal disorders. 🙌 We are delighted to support this project which addresses an unmet patient need using an innovative solution from the team at Nemysis. 👇 Read more using the link below https://lnkd.in/d9pFScm9
