Today is National Stress Awareness Day. You might be interested to learn that in the CIPD report in 2022 on health and wellness at work, that 79% of people in the workplace said that they were suffering from stress and, in organizations with over 250 employees that rose to 90%. What you might also be interested in noting is that when people are going through a divorce or breakup or have just suffered a personal loss, they are under enormous stress. When stress is ongoing and becomes chronic, then it is serious because it can lead to anxiety, depression, and mental health issues. I am also a mental health first aider, and if any of you are mental health first aiders, then you'll know that we talk about the stress container - where all the stress goes in at the top and there is a tap at the bottom to let out the stress because otherwise the stress will overflow and cause emotional overwhelm. And of course, we need to avoid that because then we will be overloaded and overstressed and that's when mental health issues and long-term issues arise. So, if you are an employer who has a large number of staff, even a few members of staff, then please remember that today is National Stress Awareness Day. And think about ways that your staff can reduce stress and why it's so important and the impact that it has on productivity, performance, and morale. Leave me your comments. I’m interested in your thoughts. I will be speaking at the 14th Women in Business, Health and Beauty, Fashion and Wellness Conference on 26th November. My presentation is on personal loss in the workplace and why it’s important for employers to cultivate a culture of workplace well-being. The Conference is being hosted by Des O'Connor and it’s being held at the Holiday Inn in Kensington and it’s FREE to attend. I’ve put the link to register in the comments below and look forward to meeting you then. Wishing you all a stress-free day. All the best, Celia Conrad #nationalstressawarenessday #workplacementalhealth #workplacewellbeing #griefsupport #relationshipproblems
