As we reflect on the exhilarating experience at Arab Health Exhibition, we cannot help but express our profound gratitude to the wonderful team at Genopole. Their unwavering support made it possible for Cell Environment's CEO, Radhia M'kacher to participate in this event. Our CEO had the incredible opportunity to connect, share, and collaborate with healthcare professionals and investors from around the globe, but also it was the occasion to visit some fantastic places in Abu Dhabi and Dubai like Hub71 and Dubai Science Park. Notably, this year’s event shone a spotlight on an inspiring shift - the rise of women in healthcare leadership. Watching an increasing number of women take the stage and contribute vigorously to discussions was a testament to the progress we’re making towards gender diversity and equality in our sector. Thank you, Arab Health Exhibition, for setting such an empowering stage and for yet another year of outstanding insights and networking opportunities. Thank you, Genopole, for your unwavering support and for this unique opportunity. Lacroix L. Gender parity is not just a matter of social justice, it's the foundation for the prosperity and development of economies and societies worldwide. According to the WEF Global Gender Gap Index 2022, the Middle East and North Africa region faces a daunting 115-year timeline to close the gender gap. In a region where cross-industry platforms supporting women's career advancement in healthcare are lacking, it's evident that there's an urgent need for a comprehensive solution that facilitates long-term progress. #Pfizerproud to be partnering with the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA), a global nonprofit organization committed to achieving gender parity in leadership positions across North America and Europe. We will be setting up our first branch in the UAE, with plans to expand offerings across all of AFME. Sponsored by PHARMAG and the Middle East D&I Forum, this initiative has garnered support from various pharmaceutical and healthcare organizations to launch in Dubai this week. As such, our team is eager to contribute our perspectives and insights during the kick-off event, and I look forward to sharing these alongside esteemed panellists, and to witness firsthand the positive impact this platform will have on women's career advancement in the region. Pfizer, in collaboration with our partners, is establishing a dedicated platform for women in healthcare not only addressing a critical need but also laying the foundation for a more equitable future that empowers women to reach their full potential in the field of healthcare and beyond.

#IamAPHRC was thrilled to participate in the #WomenInDataSummit2024, where critical discussions on gender data in health, the challenges women face, and innovative solutions for progress took center stage. At the summit, #IamAPHRC’s Sylvia Kiwuwa-Muyingo underscored the importance of comprehensive, gender-responsive data, highlighting how gender-based discrimination often distorts information. She called for a robust data ecosystem that acknowledges diverse contributions. #IamAPHRC’s Lynette Kamau focused on the differences in health-seeking behaviors between men and women. She emphasized how gender-specific data can lead to more effective, targeted interventions that improve timely access to care. Dr. Victor Kibe from Nairobi City County highlighted gender disparities in disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment outcomes. He noted that while women live longer than men, they face higher rates of chronic illness. Despite some female-responsive health policies, poor data disaggregation hinders progress toward gender equality, leading to adverse health outcomes and poor decision-making. He stressed the need for high-quality, digitized data collection to reduce errors. Beatrice May from AGA KHAN UNIVERSITY shared a cautionary example of how a health intervention requiring women to bring their spouses for antenatal care reduced uptake, showing how data-driven decision-making can prevent unintended harm. APHRC remains committed to advancing the collection, analysis, and dissemination of data that reflects the realities of women and girls across Africa. We will continue working with partners to advocate for data-driven policies that promote gender equity in health. A special thank you to the Office of the Women's Rights Advisor to the President, and all participants for fostering collaboration and learning. #DataForChange #WomenEmpowerment #APHRCResearch #WeAreAfrica Catherine Kyobutungi Anthony Mveyange Mamadou Diarafa Diallo Christine Ger Benjamin Agina Henry Owoko Odero Isabel Radoli Mauline Onyancha GROOTS Kenya

Happy International Women's Day♀️! Last week, it was an honor to speak at the Best Practice London/ Women's Health Professional Care Event about the crucial topic of new models of care to improve access to women's healthcare services. As we celebrate International Women's Day today, it's important to reflect on the progress we've made in healthcare , but also the work that still lies ahead in closing the gender gap in healthcare. Women around the world continue to face inequality & barriers when it comes to accessing quality healthcare services. Whether it's due to socio-economic factors, cultural norms, or systemic biases, these obstacles prevent countless women from receiving the care they need and deserve. This International Women's Day, let's commit ourselves to advancing the cause of addressing health inequality, closing the gender gap, and creating a healthcare system that provides every woman with the care we deserve to be able not just to survive - but to thrive ❤️ Laura Wilson Pure Physiotherapy #internationalwomensday #WomensHealth #closethecaregap

GREAT leadership is essential because CHANGE starts at the TOP. “A room without women is a dark room,” HE Dr.Hussein Al Rand, UAE Ministry of Health & Prevention Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health, beautifully said as he opened the International Women Board of Directors healthcare roundtable. The room lit up as everyone cheerfully agreed. Mohaymen Abdelghany, As the company CEO I encourage every organization to promote gender balance, it is crucial to reflect on the foundational principles that drive our success. One principle that deserves our utmost attention is the importance of maintaining a gender-balanced boardroom. The commitment to diversity and inclusion is not just a moral obligation—it is a strategic imperative.
