We are thrilled to announce that a part of our research on Driver Behavior Analysis has been published in the IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems: https://lnkd.in/eVBVZVdN. Alongside this paper, we are releasing a dual-module dataset comprising driver gaze measurements and vehicular kinematics data, collected from 10 drivers navigating highways and secondary roads under morning, daytime, and evening traffic conditions. (Dataset webpage link: https://lnkd.in/eK7qbYu6 ) If you or someone you know is engaged in human-centered intelligent transportation research, we encourage you to explore our dataset and share your feedback or valuable insights. Your input will help us refine and enhance our future research approach.

💡 The Science Behind Thermal Imaging 💡 Thermal imaging relies on the principles of infrared radiation. Every object emits energy depending on its temperature, and thermal cameras are designed to detect and measure this energy. The result is a precise visual representation of temperature differences across a surface. This technology plays a critical role in preventive maintenance, identifying potential issues like overheating components before they fail. From improving safety to boosting efficiency, the science of thermal imaging continues to impact industries worldwide. #ThermalImaging #InfraredScience #PreventiveMaintenance #TechInnovation #ThermalGlass

This research develops and evaluates an #Eco-#Cooperative #Adaptive #Cruise #Control system in proximity of traffic signals (#ECO-#CACC-#I) that estimates the spatiotemporal back of queue propagation in real-time, using loop detector and probe vehicle data, while considering the inherent uncertainties in actuated traffic signal timings. The system uses probe vehicle information as well as information from the control logic to enhance the real-time queue length estimates and does not require historical queue data. Through comprehensive simulation experiments involving a single vehicle approaching a traffic signal, as well as simulations of a signalized intersection covering various #market #penetration #levels (#MPLs) and varying demand levels, the fuel savings achieved by the ECO-CACC-I system are quantified. The developed queue estimation algorithm provides a significant improvement over the traditional use of shockwave theory alone. ---- Amr Shafik, Hesham A.
