If you want to hear more about our scientific collaboration with Namrata Gundiah and Aritra Chatterjee, as well as the genesis of our recent work published in Development, here is the link to our interview for the "People behind the papers" section of the issue. For me, this was a nice way to talk about our research, the ups and downs that we had to deal with, and the long journey that was undertaken to publish this work. https://lnkd.in/dMw_PsNQ

Preserve the integrity of science. You can volunteer to check post publication papers. (Should have done a better job of peer review pre-publication). (Maybe peer reviewers were too close to researchers.)

It's the first #EJP Editor's Choice article of August! While digital self-management interventions for chronic pain appear promising in improving well-being and functioning in target populations, it is unclear how the development and evaluation processes were structured and how implementation was planned and executed. This systematic review provides insights into implementation frameworks used to guide and evaluate scientific innovation in chronic pain. Four bibliography databases (Medline, Web of Science, PsycINFO, CINAHL) and two registries (PubMed Central, MedaRxiv) were systematically searched. Learn about the results here: https://lnkd.in/dKGtCZwz

Elated to announce our recent publication! This research focuses on the comparison of trans-femoral vs. trans-carotid TAVR access for the patient of TAVR. TF-TAVR is considered as gold standard technique, but alternative access sites have been used, especially when TF-TAVR approach is contraindicated in fewer instances. TC-TAVR access, which is concurrently being considered as the primary substitute of TF-TAVR. The current evidence comparing the safety and efficacy of TC-TAVR with TF-TAVR is limited. We performed an updated systematic review and meta-analysis to provide a robust comparison between the two techniques.
We are delighted to share the latest insights comparing trans-femoral versus trans-carotid access for TAVR in the comprehensive systematic review and meta-analysis by RCOP mentees Naser Yamani, Syed Hasham Ali, Mahnoor Sadiq Afeerah Bashir, Kapil D Bhojwani, Vivek L. Saba Fatmah, Shazra Khalid, Hammad R Shamsi, Batool Zehra, and Zulfiqar Q Baloch. Under the guidance and mentorship of Dr. Kaneez Fatima, they successfully published this paper in the prestigious Future Science OA. Well done guys!

This is a must read blog post from Dorothy Bishop "Now you see it, now you don't: the strange world of disappearing Special Issues at MDPI" https://buff.ly/47lKFRO Dorothy, please turn this into a peer reviewed article. I recently published an article on OMICS (https://buff.ly/3SeUs5I). I did this, so that what I said/thought was validated by others and it now is available in the scientific archive forever. I believe that we: 1️⃣ Need to ensure that evidence such as this is reported in the peer reviewed literature. 2️⃣ That it deserves to be validated by peer review so that we know that others have looked at it and agree that what is being reported is robust.
