The JURI report on SEPs is deeply flawed and disproportionate. Given this, IP Europe asks all MEPs to VOTE NO to MEP Walsmann's SEPs report. Our latest video offers a few good reasons why. Those reasons include that the SEP Proposal would undermine European leadership in the development of open technology standards and that it would increase licensing costs for SMEs. Watch our short video to discover more reasons to avoid a tragic Own Goal for Europe. MEPs should vote NO to MEP Walsmann's report and an #OwnGoal4EU #SEPs #standards #SaveEssentialPatents #patents #intellectualproperty #EU #technology #regulation https://lnkd.in/ejC44VgJ Marion Walsmann, Axel Voss, Geoffroy DIDIER, Adrian Vazquez Lazara, Tiemo Wölken, Emmanuel Maurel;

Putting together my presentation for next month's ADC congress. I will be sharing my results from a secondary analysis of the Complementary Medicine Use, Health Literacy and Disclosure (CAMUHLD) study. Preliminary results highlighted differences in conventional and complementary medicine use in relation to mental health status. Why is this important to know? People living with diabetes might not be asked if they are using complementary medicines, creating potential clinical governance issues, as some medicines can interact with diabetes therapies or might have influence on BGL which needs to be taken into account. People living with diabetes also commonly report lowered mental health functioning. Research has shown that people living with either a chronic disease or mental health condition commonly use complementary medicines, with a current lack of research in understanding the specific needs of people living with both diabetes and lowered mental health functioning.
