Today is World Sight Day, and to mark the occasion, we’ve been reaching out to some of our supporters, to thank them for their long-term support. I’ve had some lovely conversations, learning about the personal reasons that led them to support Fight for Sight. One conversation stood out; a lady shared how crucial it is for us to stay focused and keep pushing forward because sight loss is such an important issue. And she’s absolutely right. In tough times like these, it’s easy to focus on immediate needs, but we must not lose the momentum we’ve worked so hard to build. Medical research requires long-term investment, but the rewards are life-changing. Many of the supporters I spoke to live with sight loss, yet many have had their remaining vision preserved thanks to screening and treatments that wouldn’t exist without the advances driven by research. We cannot afford to lose this momentum – the treatments and cures of tomorrow depend on it. "Allies in Action" is the ideal title for this lift. First on-scene is often a #publicsafety officer. We must empower #MobileMedical responders of ALL patch colors with actionable, real-time clinical context.
