As a recent new father of two, I sometimes recall a time where I learned a lot about parenting without knowing it.

With the holiday season kicking off, now is the time to give thanks for our families, their support in our parenting journeys, and choosing now to acknowledge what we can and cannot control. No matter what you do, what you say, what court actions are being taken, and what orders are in place: You cannot make the other parent to your child be a good parent and you cannot make them be a good co-parent. Here is a great TikTok from Paul Youngblood about the topic. #tarrantcountyfamilylaw #divorceattorney #coparenting #familylaw

Dealing with a Toxic Co-Parent: The Copy-Paste Method for Boundary Enforcement In this video, we discuss the 'copy-paste method' as a strategy for dealing with a toxic person in parallel parenting situations. The key is to take screenshots of any agreements or arrangements, and send them to the other person whenever they try to push back against the boundaries. This can help condition them to respect the established terms over time, even if they get upset in the short-term. Do you resonate with this? #ParallelParenting #ToxicCommunication #CopyPasteMethod #BoundaryEnforcement #LongTermConditioning #RespectfulCommunication #hth6

A gentle reminder about the potential consequences of uploading videos featuring your children for online fame. Beyond privacy concerns, this practice may inadvertently shift their focus from developing problem-solving skills and intelligence to creating attention-grabbing content. The long-term impact could lead them down a path that compromises their respect and values. Let's collectively reconsider and prioritize our children's holistic development over short-lived popularity. 🧠🚫 #ParentingChoices #PrivacyMatters #childrensmentalhealth

Like Bryony, I don’t want to police language, as we are all trying to do better, if you’re interested in using more human language, this blog is a great place to start !
I’ve added a page to my Rewriting Social Care blog site with an A-Z list of #SocialCare words and phrases that make me go hmmm… and links to blog posts explaining why. Although I’m not keen on policing language, there are some words on this list that I’d happily ban, because I genuinely don’t feel they have any place in a human, relational way of thinking and working. Words like bed blocker, case, challenging behaviour, complex, frontline, hard to reach, non-compliant, refuses to engage, service user… Other words are on the list because I think we interpret their meaning in ways that can be harmful. Words like community, independent, prevention and strengths-based. It’s a long list! But not exhaustive. What would you add? #RewritingSocialCare #LanguageMatters #UsNotThemAndUs https://lnkd.in/eusy-iFD
