The Dutch government has unveiled its ambitious plans for a fully #circulareconomy by 2050, emphasizing circular design to combat waste, pollution, and energy-intensive processes. The National Circular Economy Programme 2023 to 2030 focuses on reducing raw material usage, promoting reuse and repair, and integrating #sustainable bio-based alternatives. While we commend these proactive efforts to transform the industry, we believe harmonized #legislation is essential to drive meaningful change. Harmonized legislation is key to driving change, and we look forward to watching how the #circular economy evolves with regulation.

Zero waste starts with using less (minimize single use items, rent or share instead of buy, accelerate and brake less, rent or share instead of buying, maintain instead of discarding, etc.). When something finally has reached the end of its life, extract maximum value. This may mean material separation for recycling and reuse, and/or using a process that converts a wide variety of minimally prepared wastes efficiently to pristine energetic syngas, nonleachable aggregate suitable for reuse, and clean water, such as the one offered by Omni. The Omni process avoids methane emissions from landfill, has no air emissions during waste conversion, and offers a proven, modular, integrated solution for mixed wastes with best in class economics.
