"Farming success is more than yield. It is quality of life, the safety of ecosystem services, habitat and wildlife conservation, and the vibrancy of a close-knit community." says Sophie Petit, co-researcher at the University of South Australia. A new study has shown that trust and cohesion between farmers and the local council, as well as access to information about natural resource management, are critical to protecting native #biodiversity. Do we have to choose between protecting biodiversity and producing more food, or is there a way to do both? Find out in the article below.

Today is Endangered Species Day, a day to reflect on the consequences of failing to protect species and their habitats. With almost 1 in 6 species in the UK on the brink of extinction, monitoring biodiversity has never been more crucial. Map Impact collaborates with organisations to address this loss by mapping biodiversity and empowering stakeholders to take decisive action. By encouraging changemakers to embrace conservation, we are paving the way for a future where nature thrives and goals are achieved. #SaveOurSpecies #EndangeredSpeciesDay

Today the Greenbelt Foundation released our latest report on how we can increase access to green spaces and parks in Canada’s most populous and biodiverse region. With rapid growth in southern Ontario we need contemporary approaches to creating large parks. This latest release focuses on new models for incorporating private land which are an important part of larger strategies in this complex part of Ontario. It also highlights connections to Indigenous reconciliation, critical conservation needs and more equitable green space access. Take a look!
Large parks are important green spaces that provide residents with access to nature and contribute to biodiversity conservation and ecosystem functions. In a new report released today, we offer focused solutions on the trending shortage of large parks, examining how private lands can play a role in increasing access to parks for everyone. Wildlife corridors are critical for maintaining biodiversity, allowing animals to migrate, find mates, and access different parts of their habitat, which is essential for their survival. These corridors help counteract the effects of habitat fragmentation due to human activities like deforestation and urbanisation. Creating and preserving these pathways are vital for the conservation of many species and the overall health of ecosystems. #WildlifeCorridors #Connectivity
