It’s the start of another week and time for a little Monday motivation! Take a look at the sleek finish on this new scheme right on our doorstep in Fleetwood using our industry-leading Centech PU waterproofing system. We were delighted to be involved with this project for the The Boathouse Youth Charity, which works with children and young people from disadvantaged communities across Blackpool. This is the fourth youth centre that the charity has created and the first one outside Blackpool – it’s an amazing achievement Laurance Hancock 👏. Centech PU was chosen for this project because it is low odour, non-flammable and stripped of all isocyanite free-monomers, meaning the building could remain open and in use throughout the roofing works, with zero disruption or risk to the occupants. Our CQP contractors W Hughes & Son Ltd love working with Centech PU – it’s cold applied and, as you can see, achieves a great finish that lasts. If you have a new roofing project coming up anywhere in the UK, or are looking for some helpful advice, then call us today on 📞 01772 453107 or email us at ✉️ info@centaurroofing.co.uk. #CentaurTechnologies #CentechPU #centaurroofing #coldapplied #nonflammable #freemonomer #flatroofing #liquidwaterproofing #coldapplied #nonflammable #freemonomer #survey #specification

The Schuylkill River Restoration Fund (Fund) 2024 grant round is open! The Fund provides grants to non-profit organizations and government agencies for projects that improve the water quality of the Schuylkill River Watershed. The grants focus on three major sources of pollution: stormwater run-off, agricultural pollution and abandoned mine drainage. The Fund resulted from a 2004 DRBC docket approval to Exelon (now Constellation) for its Limerick Generating Station. Officially started in 2006, the Fund has collected over $5 million - and leveraged another $5 million – for 136 projects that protect and restore the Schuylkill River. Schuylkill River Greenways oversees/manages the Fund. We're just 4 days away from the Weston-super-Half in aid of Project Seagrass. Many of the population aren't in the know when it comes to seagrass, which is why we are fundraising and sharing important facts along the way, please give, if you can, to our fundraiser for Project Seagrass (link in comments). Seagrasses only occupy 0.1% of the seafloor yet are responsible for 18% of organic carbon buried in the oceans. Seagrass meadows are able to store carbon in their sediment, essentially ‘locking’ away large amounts of carbon and acting as a carbon store. Help protect seagrass meadows by supporting our fundraiser for Project Seagrass. #fundraising #seagrass #projectseagrass #climatechange #climateaction #climatecrisis #justgiving #halfmarathon

🌟 Safety is Our Priority: Expanding Our Preventable Measures Through Charity Donations! 🌟 At Rising Edge, safety is more than just a priority - it's a core value ingrained in everything we do. As we embark on our journey of executing larger and more complex projects through 2024, we're thrilled to announce an exciting new initiative that amplifies our commitment to safety while giving back to those in need. In an effort to further enhance our Hazard Identification (ID) reporting program, we're introducing a matching program for charitable donations. For every hazard ID submitted by our team members throughout the year, Rising Edge will donate $1 to a charitable cause in December 2024. This initiative not only encourages active participation in our safety program but also enables us to make a positive impact beyond our organization and to the communities we work in and serve. Over the years, we've witnessed the profound impact that Hazard ID reporting has on our overall safety performance. There's a direct correlation between the number of hazard IDs submitted and incident frequency — when reporting increases, incidents decrease. With an average of 5000-6000 submittals per year, we're excited to see these numbers soar in 2024, thanks to the active participation of our employees and subcontractors. At Rising Edge, we're continuously striving to improve our services and programs, and this initiative is just one of many ways we're working towards that goal. Together, let's prioritize safety, make a difference, and build a brighter future for all. #RisingEdge #RisingEdgeGroup #TrustTheEnergy #Canada #USA #power #electricity #energy #highvoltage #utilities #industrial #renewables #renewableenergy #substations #transmission #distribution #construction #commissioning #projectmanagement #engineering #epc #renewableprojects #sustainableenergy #Teamwork #Accountability #Integrity #ContinuousImprovement #Safety #SafetyFirst #CharityInitiative #RisingEdgeCares

Have you heard of 'deconstruction'? 🔨🏡♻️✨ It's the eco-friendly alternative to demolition - instead of destroying valuable materials from your home (cabinets, countertops, wood, tile, etc) and dumping them in a landfill, Stardust's deconstruction team will carefully remove each piece so these materials can be reused for many more years. . If you're thinking of remodeling your home, we encourage all of our customers to look into deconstruction, for several reasons: 🌎 Stardust's deconstruction team charges nominal fee (demolition can cost thousands) ♻️ we carefully remove each piece, including cleaning up & moving all materials (demolition can leave dangerous debris behind) 💙 saves you time and money! 🌱 it keeps reusable materials out of the landfill . The Prophet Mohammad (SAW) once was asked, “Which of the charities are the best?” He says, “To give water.” Today, when it comes to water, when it’s in abundance, it’s the cheapest thing. But when it’s in scarcity, it’s the most precious, most expensive thing. With Penny Appeal USA’s Thirst Relief program you can help support sustainable solutions to give clean and safe water to communities in need. You can support programs such as solar wells, power centers, and hand pumps that will bring water to those in need around the world. You can make every drop count this Ramadan. For just $50 a month you can provide clean water access and make your Ramadan count with Penny Appeal USA. https://bit.ly/TR-R24 💧 ⠀ #PennyAppealUSA #MakeItCount #SmallChangeBigDifference #ThirstRelief #Ramadan #Ramadan2024 #Charity

Vice President, Corporate Affairs - Energy thought leader with stakeholder engagement, project development, and crisis communication experience
Many people aren’t aware of the development work National Grid is doing in the renewable space, through National Grid Renewables and Community Offshore Wind. We are playing an active role in the #energytransition with on and offshore wind and solar, and battery storage projects in the Nortjeast and across the U.S.
The Unbridled Solar project in Henderson and Webster counties, Kentucky, is a symbol of sustainable progress. From creating 200 construction and operations jobs in Kentucky to contributing $800,000 through a dedicated project charitable fund over the next 20 years, we want to exemplify how Unbridled Solar commits to being good neighbors within the communities while fueling local economic growth. https://lnkd.in/gtQU9AQf #SolarPower #RenewableEnergy #Kentucky

Campaign to save Scotland's mountain paths raises £218,000 in first year. The initial stage of the campaign is focused on repairing 3.2km of badly eroded path on An Teallach, one of Scotland’s most iconic mountains. Path contractors from Cairngorm Wilderness Contracts (CWC) have so far completed 340m of path building and maintenance work on the mountain, funded by the campaign and supported by a team of enthusiastic path maintenance volunteers. It’s Up to Us, a joint campaign from Mountaineering Scotland and the Outdoor Access Trust for Scotland (OATS), is urging all those who love being out in the hills and care about the mountain paths they use to step up with a small donation towards the £300k target. The campaign is also calling on the Government to help develop a sustainable funding model for building and maintenance work across Scotland’s upland path network to ensure it is kept fit for purpose for future generations to enjoy. Walking tourism is estimated to be worth around 1.6 billion per year to the Scottish economy. However, there is no government funding for path work on privately owned land [83% of paths in Scotland] that is not in the two national parks or NGO estates. Post-Brexit, EU funding, previously accessible to private landowners, has been lost and not replaced.
