*Embracing Architectural Harmony with Nature* In an era where urbanization rapidly encroaches upon our natural landscapes, it is imperious to reflect on how architecture can harmoniously coexist with the environment. The design showcased here exemplifies the beauty and tranquility that emerges when open spaces seamlessly integrate with their lush green surroundings. This structure isn’t just a building; it’s a testimony to the philosophy that architecture should not dominate but rather complement nature. The sprawling windows and open spaces invite natural light and air, raising a connection with the peaceful environment. As architects and designers, we must ask ourselves: Are we truly appreciating our environment? Are we designing with a conscious effort to use natural resources wisely? By prioritizing sustainable materials, energy-efficient designs, and layouts that blend with the natural topography, we can create spaces that not only serve our needs but also respect and preserve the environment. What are your thoughts on integrating architecture with nature? I’m eager to hear your thoughts and insights.

For over a century, the phrase ‘Form follows function’ has sparked debate among architects and designers alike. Coined by Louis Sullivan in his 1896 essay, this principle was a groundbreaking idea in the age of skyscrapers—structures that were no longer limited by thick walls, thanks to the innovation of steel framing. Sullivan believed a building’s form should reflect its function, an idea beautifully exemplified in his iconic Wainwright Building in St. Louis, where the design mirrored the activities inside—retail below, offices above, and utility spaces at the top. Frank Lloyd Wright, a young apprentice of Sullivan, expanded this idea. He believed form and function are one, advocating for designs that harmonise with nature, embracing materials, climate, and human spirit. How do you think ‘form follows function’ applies to modern design? #Design #Architecture #GraphicDesign #MotionDesign #DesignAgency #Amsterdam #DUTCHDESIGNAGENCY

As an architect, I merge art and science to craft spaces that inspire. Each project is a canvas for creativity, blending form and function seamlessly. I strive to design buildings that stand as both practical marvels and aesthetic wonders. Light, materials, and structure intertwine to create environments that elevate the human experience. From towering skyscrapers to intimate homes, every design tells a unique story. Architecture is my passion, a means to shape the world and leave a lasting impact.

Pick your clients wisely - Jefa Greenaway RAIA MDIA, Greenaway Architects Being able to recognize a good (or bad) client is key to the future success of a project. Jefa’s message emphasizes the importance of trusting one's intuition and being selective when accepting clients and projects. For him, his inability to say no has been a significant challenge, which led to working with some problematic clients. The best projects happen with the best clients, and discerning whether a client is good or not is an important skill we need to learn and master. ▶️ This round table discussion is not online. Breaking away from the conventional approach to architectural design is at the core of our design philosophy. We believe in designing spaces beyond mere functionality, and incorporate design elements that honour the natural vegetation and topography of the site. By creating an implicit link between the natural and built forms, we aim to foster a deeper connection between the users and nature. #sustainability #sustainabledesign #architecture #design #builtandunbuilt #schooldesign #institutionaldesign #masterplanning #greenspaces #outdoorspaces #builtenvironment #naturalenvironment #publicarchitecture #educationalspaces #futurereadydesigns #greenfuture #VijayGuptaArchitects #VGA #VGAVoice

Timeless Design, Modern Sustainability: Bridging Tradition and Innovation in Architecture Honoring the elegance of classical architecture, this project showcases how timeless design can seamlessly merge with modern innovation. By drawing inspiration from the past, we’ve reimagined a home for today’s needs, blending classical proportions, symmetry, and intricate details with cutting-edge sustainable technologies. This approach demonstrates that new buildings can embody the same sense of artistry and craftsmanship as those of previous eras, while meeting the demands of modern living. From eco-friendly systems to energy efficiency, it’s proof that sustainability and tradition can work hand in hand to create spaces that are not only beautiful but also future-ready. This is architecture that respects history, serves the present, and prepares for tomorrow.
