🌟 Truist Commits $725 Million to North Carolina’s Recovery Efforts 🌟 In a bold move to support communities hit hardest by recent storms, Truist Financial has announced a $725 million recovery initiative for North Carolina. Over the next three years, the bank will channel funds into programs aimed at rebuilding and revitalizing affected areas. The commitment includes: ➡️ $340M for small business lending, residential mortgages, and commercial real estate. ➡️ $310M in low-cost, tax-exempt municipal loans to support infrastructure projects. ➡️ $50M in funding through Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), which specialize in smaller, community-focused loans. ➡️ $25M in grants to nonprofits addressing urgent recovery and long-term community needs. Jenna Kelly, Truist’s North Carolina West Regional President, described the effort as a reflection of the bank’s connection to the state. She says, “this is our home state, this is our back yard and it was the most deadly storm in North Carolina history. We think this is an opportunity for providing something structured in a long-term way.” Truist’s commitment highlights the power of financial institutions to drive recovery efforts and foster resilience in affected communities. As the cost of living continues to rise, financial empowerment is a key issue for Torontonians. Toronto Public Library is working in partnership with community agencies to connect Library customers with trained staff who can offer free, expert support in meeting financial goals. TD Charitable Foundation invites applications for Housing for Everyone grant program Many households in LMI communities face significant challenges that threaten their ability to sustain homeownership, including rising property taxes, increasing home repair costs, and the risk of foreclosure. To address these barriers, the 2025 Housing for Everyone competition will award $7.2 million to select organizations focused on providing solutions that support maintaining homeownership in low- to moderate-income communities through post-purchase support. Grants in the amount of $200,000 will be made available to eligible organizations. The most competitive proposals will be those that best demonstrate impactful post-purchase homeownership support and their role in home preservation on a path to wealth development. Projects must be located in the competition’s eligible geographic regions, including New England, upstate New York, and the metropolitan areas surrounding New York, Pennsylvania/New Jersey, the Mid-South, Florida, and Detroit. https://lnkd.in/eruZnBqE

The affordable housing crisis doesn't just affect those searching for a home – it impacts families struggling to keep their homes amid the rising costs of repairs, property taxes and other economic pressures. Through the 19th annual Housing for Everyone grant program, the @TD Charitable Foundation will provide grants of $200,000 each to 36 nonprofits working to address the critical issue of homeownership sustainability. From post-purchase counseling to energy efficiency improvements, for example, these grants will support organizations focused on removing barriers to sustaining homeownership.
