Moving forward in the midst of #RecoveryMonth, we want to shed light on The Center for Great Expectations continuum of care and how it is a core component to long-term recovery. CGE offers substance use treatment at many different levels of care, from long-term residential treatment to intensive outpatient and outpatient, to in-home therapeutic services and Permanent Supportive Housing. Our continuum of care is responsive to client needs: higher levels of care when they need it or when they experience regressions in the recovery process and lower levels of care when they are able to progress in recovery with more independence. Importantly, when a client’s needs indicate a change in level of care, they are not discharged from the program but seamlessly moved into a new level of care. This helps clients understand that a change in treatment intensity is not an indication of failure or rejection from the program; thereby maintaining a safe path for their recovery. Our continuum of care aligns with research showing how human development, including the process of recovery, is a non-linear and lifelong process. This is just one aspect of our trauma-responsive approach but core to our mission to provide a safe place, a safe presence, and a safe path. #NationalRecoveryMonth #NRM2023 #RecoveryIsReal
