PHI - Quality Care Through Quality Jobs and the National Alliance for Caregiving (NAC) released a first-of-its-kind report entitled "Together in Care: Empowering Direct Care Workers to Meet Growing Demand for Care." The report makes the case for investing in caregivers and strengthening the partnerships between family caregivers and direct care workers. The report features the evidence-informed intervention designed and implemented by CCA. A 60.5-hour training program for In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) workers led to caregivers and consumers agreeing they were getting better care and better communication. They also found consumers experienced reduced ER visits and rehospitalizations two years after the training. CCA is proud to have provided input on this report and we are excited for the vital discussion that will follow! https://lnkd.in/eXdXBspS

𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗺𝗮𝗽? This workbook is an 80-page 6-month guide to a culturally responsive caregiver training program. Overall, this is a comprehensive approach to providing caregiver support. The Roadmap is split into three sections; Before the Encounters, Caregiver Encounters, and a Caregiver Goal Bank. Before the Encounter allows the clinician to self-reflect and creates a foundation before they begin working with the caregivers. The Caregiver Encounters are set up to occur twice a week with Encounter A targeting training of a new skill and Encounter B targeting the application of a new skill. Finally, the Caregiver Goal Bank is a list of goals written to target caregiver behavior and skills. These goals are meant to be interchangeable with the goals already written in the encounters. 💜 Shop now at https://lnkd.in/gmKdBMRW. #knowledgenowsolutions #bcba #telehealthaba #caregiver #drbrittfarley

What are the 6Cs of caregiving? Communication: Caregivers should listen to patients and their families, provide clear explanations, and ensure that information is shared appropriately with the healthcare team. 🔴 Commitment: Caregivers should be committed to their roles, continuously seeking to improve care standards and being loyal to their patients and profession. 🔴 Compassion: Caregivers should show kindness, empathy, and a genuine concern for their patients. Listening actively and responding to patients' emotional needs is crucial 🔴 Courage: Caregivers should advocate for their patients, challenge poor practice, and be willing to try new approaches to improve care. 🔴 Care: Care involves a holistic approach, considering physical, emotional, and psychological needs. Caregivers should show empathy and strive to improve the overall quality of life for those they care for 🔴 Competence: Caregivers should continuously update their skills and knowledge through education and training to ensure they provide the best possible #carepro #triviawednesday #caregiving

Caregivers have a far-reaching impact on society as a whole. Caregivers serve as pillars of support in the healthcare system, reducing the burden on hospitals, nursing homes, and other care institutions. Caregivers improve health outcomes and encourage greater overall satisfaction with care by allowing individuals to receive care in the comfort of their own homes. Furthermore, caregivers make significant economic contributions by providing unpaid care that would otherwise need the hiring of paid specialists. While the economic value of informal caring is sometimes underestimated, its social significance is immeasurable. Caregivers not only save money by reducing the financial load on official healthcare systems, but they also foster community connection and solidarity. Empathize with caregivers. Let's discuss how we can help manage finances amidst caregiving responsibilities. Book a consultation with us today by visiting www.holisticplanners.com

One common complaint of caregivers is that training doesn't seem to have much to do with the reality of their day to day. For training to be effective, it has to talk about realistic situations and scenarios.... even when that means acknowledging that some situations are not perfect! #caregivertips #homecare #seniorcare @higherstandardscaregivertraining
