Here are the key takeaways: Fire and Weather Conditions The fire continues to pose significant challenges with 2,832 firefighting personnel assigned to contain the blaze. Elevated fire weather conditions are expected to begin this evening and last through Wednesday. Moderate to strong Santa Ana winds, coupled with low humidity and dry fuels, will sustain the high fire threat in the coming days. Operational Update Santa Anita Canyon (Right Flank): Progress is evident, though “quite a bit of heat” remains about 1.5 miles west of the eastern edge on the south side. West Side (near JPL): Crews are actively mopping up hotspots. North Side (National Forest): Favorable weather conditions are aiding firefighters’ progress, assisted by air resources. Wear an N95 or P100 mask outdoors. Employers must provide N95 masks for outdoor workers. N95 masks are also being distributed at Family Assistance Centers. The VADOC responded to the City of Richmond’s recent water outage by providing drinking water to residents and supplying water to two hospitals and multiple points of distribution across the city. Agribusiness teams from State Farm Correctional Center and Bland Correctional Center sent four tractor-trailer loads of drinking water to multiple sites throughout the city. These shipments contained 276,000 eight-ounce pouches and 800 five-gallon bladders of water. The VADOC also provided two water tankers that were used to support multiple hospitals and community centers across Richmond. The tankers supported the Richmond Veterans Administration Medical Center, Bon Secours Southside Medical Center, and later supported the Pine Camp and Hickory Hill community centers. According to the American Red Cross Advisory Council, "If standard treatment is not working or not feasible, Anti-Choking Devices may be used for attempted removal of airway obstruction." 🗓️ Earlier this month our Leicestershire Police negotiators teamed up with Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service to plan, arrange and deliver a negotiation input to our Fire & Rescue teams. This is due to on occasion, our Leicestershire firefighters will find themselves in situations where they need to communicate with people in crisis until the Police and Negotiators are in attendance. 🧑🏫 The training consists of a Presentation designed for them which is similar to the first responder inputs we deliver to our uniform colleagues, to provide them with some awareness of persons in crisis and some do’s and don’ts and advise when talking to them. ✅ Following this there will be three realistic scenarios for the Leicester Fire and Rescue Service to put what they have learned into practice. 🚒 It is key responsibility for us as Police Force to support our fellow Blue Light teams with training and resources where possible to ensure our communities are kept safe from harm. #TeamLeicestershire
