All of us have heard the stories of small-town folks trying to make their way in the big city. The struggle of adjustment, the first oohs and aahs at the shiny glass buildings, and constantly swinging between ‘I am going to make it big here’, and ‘Do I really belong here?’ But the real struggle isn’t in those big, dramatic moments. It’s in the small, almost invisible ones. It’s when your coworker casually throws around phrases like “tres leches” or “aperitif,” and you sit there wondering if it's something you eat or an art piece. It’s the malls here being just another weekend stop, but growing up, a trip to the city mall far away was a once-in-a-year dream. It’s in the moving houses and sometimes even cities - trying to find your home away from home. It’s the difference between permanent address and current address. Back home, birthday celebrations meant pastries and maggi after an intense musical chair, while here McDonald's or a Smaash arcade party is the norm. I remember the excitement of waiting at the first traffic light in my hometown. Something about that red signal felt important, like I was stepping into a new world. It's in the realisation that we come from places where everyone knows your name, and now we’re in cities where anonymity is the norm. It's in the little things - the call back home after a long day, or the instant connection with someone who speaks your language. Because it was always in the little things. Always. #smalltowngirl #citylife #findinghome

Wondering if you should be building a team to help reach your shared mission? It was funny because yesterday my incredible wife Kelsey sent me a text it really made me pause… #ProudHusbandMoment Not because she was writing to tell me how impressed and proud she is of what we’ve accomplished, what I’ve built. Thanks Kelsey, I love you. ❤️ But here’s the truth... It made me self-reflect because I couldn’t have done anything on my own, so I really don’t deserve the recognition. .. It’s not just me. It’s ‘we’. Not only has Kelsey allowed me to thrive as my life teammate, but WE HAVE built this together. 💪🏻 The CityLife community. All of us. It’s WILD to think that in the last five years, all of us have collectively built CityLife Residential into what it is today – the third fastest-growing company in Pittsburgh over the last three years. A chip and a chair. To over $100M in portfolio value in 5 Years. A business of 50 people waking up daily to attack goals! 📈 The thing is, the portfolio is what it is. It’s just a vehicle to build what we have built. A business, a community. A happy and thriving community of a group of like-minded people chasing the same vision of happiness in the workplace. More importantly, what we are going to achieve in the future. The additional people’s lives we will be able to bring into our community and change their life for the better. To help them find their happiness. So dang excited. Look out world, we aren’t slowing down. 🌍🚀 Let’s go! 👊🏼

Last week I was looking at NYC's skyline and a thought struck me: How many stories, connections, and opportunities are hidden behind those windows? With Manhattan's population of 1.6M, the number of lost opportunities is gigantic! Then I did some math...Each of my contacts has an average 1,500 connections of their own. That means I’m only two degrees away from 1.6M people - the same as Manhattan’s population. It’s a small world, but are we making the most of it? In Casalist we're on a mission to shorten this gap. By analyzing over 400 data points for each of your contacts, Casalist illuminates who you should contact next and which relationships you should nurture. 💡 Brainstorming Challenge 💡If you could know one data point about all of your contacts, what would it be and why? I'll go first: I’d love to know what books they read last year, so I can connect with them on a deeper level and offer them value. 👇 Share your thoughts below! #Networking #Casalist #Connections
