This represents a 9 year sales cycle. Which is why the picture at the start of this video is special to me. It will stand to remind me how patience pays off. It proves how much relationships matter in business. It confirms to me that if you share your passion and demonstrate value, people will remember. And if you stick to your craft long enough, you’ll eventually get the call back. (It helps if they like your price too 😂) I first reached out to Tommy around 2014 when he was at a different company developing what is now the River Oaks District in Houston. We didn’t do any business back then. But in October 2022 he reached out to me asking to help get chargers at his newest property. I ended up earning their business and last summer we installed multiple #evcharging stations in one of Houston’s most luxurious high-rises. It’s won multiple awards (Top High-Rise Property in Country, Best New Multifamily Development in Houston) with its penthouses fetching 5-digit rents. Surely one of my proudest accomplishments of 2023. I owe a lot of this to the power of "manifestation". I took the liberty to include footage of their building in my “Layoffs to Payoffs” YouTube video early last year before I knew I had earned their business, with hopes that I would. Weeks later I did. "Jobs week" (JOLTs, ADP, Challenger etc.) has so far delivered a very consistent message - hiring is slowing and layoffs are rising. We know that rate cuts will start on September 18. I’ve got quite the dilemma on my hands and I could really use your insights. I recently snagged a job offer in Texas that seems amazing, but I just bought a house in Kansas. Here’s the breakdown: Current Job: $120k in Kansas City, take-home pay = $86k New Offer: $156k in Dallas, take-home pay = $116k I bought my house for $325k just last month and I’m hoping to sell it for a similar price. However, Zillow is suggesting I might hit around $25k in closing costs when I sell. I haven’t explored options for minimizing those yet and I could potentially negotiate with the new company to cover some of those costs. So, based on the numbers alone, it feels like the Texas offer might be the better financial move. What do you all think?
