As Storm Éowyn takes hold there are likely to be a number of trees that are brought down or damaged by the high winds. Angus Council and its partners, and private landowners, will act to remove obstructions, including trees, from the roads network at the earliest and safest opportunity –this may not always be right away, especially during hours of darkness. The same applies to wind-blown signage and barriers at roadworks and construction sites. Such issues will be addressed as soon as it is safe to do so, and likely during daylight hours. All road users should take the utmost caution when travelling during extreme weather, day and night. You should report any trees fallen and/or debris on our roads to Police Scotland by calling 101. You can find information about road closures via our Storm Éowyn - Severe weather: news and guidance webpages, where updates will be provided as soon as they are confirmed https://bit.ly/3E3Pjt9

By overlooking preplanning steps for events that possibly will occur in your area and postponing time to plan ways to facilitate escape and safety, you really are playing with fire.
