Friday marks the 7th anniversary of the Grenfell Tower fire, which claimed 72 lives. This tragedy highlighted the inequalities in our society, particularly in housing safety for low-income and ethnically diverse communities. Despite promises of reform, progress has been slow. Many buildings still have unsafe cladding, and numerous families live in substandard conditions. This ongoing issue highlights the need for urgent housing policy reforms and stricter safety regulations. We must ensure that such a tragedy never happens again and work towards a fairer, safer, and more equitable society.
