One of the most exciting things about Evergreen for our members and staff is creating highly-tailored activities that speak to a member’s past professions, food and music preferences and (past and present) hobbies. By taking these elements and embedding them into our evolving programming calendar, we create experiences for our members that speak to them, and very naturally cause them to engage and feel at home in our Evergreen Studio.  This would all be impossible without our amazing staff that is incredibly driven to make sure our members have as engaging a day as possible.  Through their brilliance, we’ve delivered the following experiences: -Bread baking and and adaptive crochet for a member who can no longer do those activities on her down due to rheumatoid arthritis -Diving with dolphins (via virtual reality) for a member who is no longer able to spend time on the water like before -Cognitive exercises for a former Lead Bank Teller (and card shark) who previously spent days on end without major mental stimulation -Walker Texas Ranger Trivia for a member who is adorably obsessed with the show (he wins every time) Everybody has something that makes them tick; that makes their personality come out and engage with others.  Our job is to find out what that is and very intentionally embed it into our daily events. In your house, who is in charge of getting everyone up, dressed, and out the door every morning? What about school pick up and drop off? Meal times? Bed times? These are some of the tasks that @FairPlaylife calls the daily grind. They need to happen every day, at certain times. You can’t delay dinner until tomorrow because you just didn’t get to it today. In many families, these daily grind tasks tend to fall on moms. Dads tend to take on car maintenance, lawn care, and other items that can be done on their own time. And offer to help when they can. All of these tasks hold value and need to be done to keep the household functioning. But the daily grind tasks should be shared between partners. In my house, my husband takes the kids to school and I pick them up. 🌧️ Slipping, Sliding, and Sore Knees: A Day in the Life 🐾 With the kids still enjoying their Christmas holiday (they're not back until next week in Worcestershire), I decided to hit pause on the chaos and noise for a moment. Taking our dog Ozzy for a leisurely walk in the woods seemed like the perfect escape. Little did I know that the recent Worcestershire weather had transformed a tranquil stroll into an adventurous mudslide! Yours truly ended up slipping on a bridge that decided to be extra slippery, leaving me with a muddy coat and a slightly bruised knee. Who knew walking the dog could be an extreme sport? But hey, every muddy misadventure has a silver lining. In my quest for balance between chaos and calm, I've managed to conquer more than half of "The Diary of a CEO: The 33 Laws of Business and Life" by Steven Bartlett. Bonus points for Steven's Audible version – a lifesaver during muddy escapades. For those in need of a straightforward and no-nonsense read (or listen), I wholeheartedly recommend it. Now, it's back to the daily juggle of running a business and playing the role of chief childcare officer until the kiddos return to school next week.
