Laura Monaco, you’re the very first person I hired back in November 2020 & you’re the last one standing from the original bunch. I’m glad I acted on your suggestion (when you blurted out): “Let’s do this!” 🤣 I love what you bring to this team: wisdom, grit, sensibility &, of course, #curiosity among other positive traits. Also, I appreciate your comic relief! 💛 Lauren Kacperski, what a breath of fresh air you are. Since you joined back in April of this year, you’ve proven that you’re a force to be reckoned with out here in these sales streets! If #curiosity was a person…  In a very short period of time, you’ve become a subject matter expert when it comes to understanding how our solutions can help our customers achieve their goals & objectives. 🧡 Kenyari Keith, MS, MLG, I painstakingly evaluated the entire candidate pool when I had another opening in my team earlier this year & I was delighted to find you. Also coming aboard this past April, you’ve stepped into the role with the #confidence & competence needed to address your very challenging book of business. Your communication & follow-up game = next level! 💗 Tara Sabanandan, our firecracker; you bring the energy for sure! Talk about #courage… After 9 years in the company as part of the Marketing leadership team, this past July you made the leap into an entirely different discipline, Sales. &, even though you’re green as grass, you’re like a sponge that soaks up all the knowledge available & gets out there and does something constructive with it. 💖 To all of you, I love our working relationship. We look out for each other & we encourage each other, all because we truly care about each other. So long and thanks for all the fish! It was time to leave my current role, and apply my focus elsewhere. It’s been an interesting and satisfying career so far. I started my IT career working on systems systems for the space sector with projects for ESA, the EU, Eumetsat and, via a stint in the US, NASA. They were fascinating “off planet” projects, although quite research focussed in nature, so I later turned to central government and criminal justice applications. From working largely onsite at government agency sites building the systems for the then nascent Electoral Commission and Independent Police Complaints Commission, to the UK’s first national sex offender register ViSOR, National Firearms and Ballistics system and the Police National Database to name just a few, and, for the last few years “back at base” with the growth of Connect from it’s (relatively) small beginnings to the significant UK (and overseas) police force product it is today; it’s been a very rewarding journey. Some of these systems won national plaudits, I was pleased to receive a Chief Constables' Commendation for services to UK Public Protection, and all continue to operate today helping the police to keep the UK a safer place. I hope they’ve helped the frontline police teams make a positive difference. When I reflect what made these systems and products the success that they were and are, there were no egos being pushed, no templated methodologies or “one size fits all”  processes being imposed, no management by spreadsheet, but instead a focus on getting the architecture and tech largely right, a small, diverse, agile stable co-located team of people with practical experience of the technology, the business processes and importantly the end user needs - all talking daily, all pulling in the same direction with a can-do attitude and clear focus on the requirements and outcomes required, and, as importantly,  flexible and pragmatic clear sighted customers and contract champions. It was a privilege to be part of the teams on these projects and products, they were like a series of mini families, each a group of tight knit dedicated, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and committed individuals, a family it was always sad to leave when the time came. I feel very fortunate to have worked with you all. If you’re reading this, you know who you are, thank you. As well as continuing to pursue various volunteer and trustee activities, I shall be taking some time off for the summer, and then deciding what the next steps might be and where I might focus my time.

When 𝙝𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙡𝙮 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙙 members of our teams announce their departure... ...there are often 𝙧𝙞𝙥𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙚𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙨 𝙛𝙖𝙧 𝙗𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 the loss of a single, valued employee. Here are a few possibilities to consider: 1. 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 - Team output may decline without their high standards and motivation.     2. 𝗡𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗲 - Remaining team members can feel demotivated and less confident.     3. 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱 - More work for the remaining team can lead to stress and burnout.     4. 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗿𝘂𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗗𝘆𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀 - Team interactions and communication can be affected.     5. 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 - Connections built over time can take a serious hit.
