I really like the concept of Rotation presentation in our Management Trainee program, where I present what I have done & learnt, or maybe the final outcome of a specific project, to my Managers. It’s really a precious opportunity to reflect on my 3-month journey, to see improving areas, to recognize myself, and be ready for the upcoming Rotation.
I have already had it this week, at the end of my first rotation – aka my Home function, People Excellence (PE). And the feeling is a little pride of what I have done, with a big gratefulness to the chances I was given and the environment I am in.
In my first 3 months at PE, I don’t have a specific position, but the chance to shadow and execute diverse JDs under that big function – 1 project with PE Advisor – to enhance employee self-service in searching policies & regulations, and 2-month working as a PE Partner – to deliver administration services and business support. It would be a pity to not mention Payroll & Benefits – where I was trusted to be a coordinator of a 10-team-member project, and the leader of 2 sub-teams. They give me a big picture of PE function, its role in the P&C team, specific responsibilities of the 3 sub-teams, and various skills such as project management, communication and stakeholder management.
Beside my role at PE, I am also involved in a big agenda of the organization. I felt so small at the moment being in a meeting with Seniors, Directors and Executive VP, but also felt so appreciated for the chance of learning and contribution. “Trao quyền” is a great keyword to describe what I was received from the program.
And last but not least, the diversity & inclusion environment I am in – with P&C department. Everyone is so nice & supportive, and celebrates what I can contribute to the team. We also have much fun together beside hardworking time.
Temporarily say goodbye to my home function, I will have the next 3-month with Sales function, starting from tomorrow – to really undertake the frontline job, to gain the insights of both the market and employee experience, to be assigned a specific huge project that help our business deliver the best results. I can see that this journey will be really tough to me, and I can’t hide my nervousness here, but it is also a one-of-a-kind experience that triggers and excites me. Wish I can smile even happier than this photograph!
