🎉 Exciting News! We now have a dossier focused on #humansecurity on the Heinrich Böll Website. There are already three articles published on this important topic - why don't you take a look? The article by Dr. Siavash Eshghi explains the concept of human security, highlighting its importance in analyzing complex crises, and redefining our understanding of security. In her article, Sabine Muscat looks at online risks such as dis- and misinformation and data security in Africa facing the "super election year 2024", explains why countering these risks is in line with European interests, and outlines the necessary steps to achieve this. In the last article Dr. René Wildangel emphasizes the need for a human security centric approach to the Palestine-Israel conflict. In order to ensure the security and well-being of all citizens in Israel and Palestine, and to achieve lasting peace in the region, regional and global actors should move away from a purely state centric and militarized understanding of security towards a more human-centric approach, which treats individuals and communities as equal stakeholders. https://lnkd.in/dHWzcD25

Climate Change & Environmental Security Analyst | Non-Traditional Security | Interdisciplinary Researcher | National Security Academic | PhD Sea Level Rise, River Delta, & Coastal Communities in South Asia.
It's my pleasure to share our recent article with the academic community. In our recent paper, "Human Security Paradigm: Implications of the US-China Strategic Conflict in Western Pacific," we argue that the Human Security implications of the US-China conflict can be a possible threat to US national Interests in the region. The United States, given its history, is anticipated to prioritize its national interest above all other considerations, disregarding the implications related to human security. However, overlooking these problems faced by Allied nations as a result of conflict can be a concern for the US national interest.
