Up from 2% in 2019, 4% of our financial counselling clients are experiencing homelessness. Of our clients experiencing homelessness 56% are women - a third of which are affected by family domestic violence. Any number over zero is simply 1 too many. Homelessness Australia, together with Everybody's Home, have created a petition calling for a 10-year National Housing and Homelessness Plan to set an ambition to end homelessness. You can take action and show your support by signing the petition here: https://buff.ly/3OvUX8X #HW2024 hashtag#homelessness hashtag#housinginstabilty hashtag#housinginsecurity hashtag#housingcrisis

September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 🧡 Today we honour the children who never returned home and the survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. We also recognize that Indigenous people are still facing injustice today. While Indigenous people only make up 5% of the Canadian population, they account for 35% of people experiencing homelessness. Together, we can support these vulnerable individuals and put an end to this injustice. Source: The Homeless Hub #NationalDayforTruthandReconciliation #OrangeShirtDay
