#FAQ Q: Can I be a SPIRIT NYS mentor? A: No We get asked this question a lot by people who are interested in volunteering. The short answer is usually no. The long answer is that our mentors are staff at our partner schools. When arrangements occur to offer our program at a school, one of the employees agrees to guide the students who enroll in SPIRIT NYS. This is usually a school social worker, coordinator, or counselor. The good news is that there are other ways to volunteer, such as organizing a supply drive and supporting fundraisers. Click the link below for more volunteering options, and message us to get involved! https://lnkd.in/grpXtxAA

Think stories are just for children? Think again. When a CEO, marketing or fundraising director truly understands the power of story, the trajectory of their organisation is changed. Stories are at the heart of everything we are. Stories make community possible and alter the direction of countries. The city in which you live, the £10 note in your wallet, the group of people you work with every day - all of these things have meaning because they are connected by a story. And the story teller created the meaning. Such is the power of the story teller. Come and learn why stories matter, and how you can craft your story, or the story of your organisation. EXETER, 26th September. https://lnkd.in/egFUVAvf

Idea #3 from Kimberly Montroy: 🎁 Give throughout the year, not just in December. 🎁 37% of all giving is done in the last three months of the year. Giving outside that time can help smooth out cash flow for grantees and lower the stress on their fundraising staff by reducing the year-end volume of work. ⭐ Giving your favorite organizations more flexibility is a nuanced yet meaningful way to show your support.
