📢 We've agreed a three year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Enery for two solar parks located in the Harju county of Estonia. Centrica will offtake power production from the Rummu and Jersey solar parks which generate approximately 39 GWh of green electricity annually - the demand of approximately 12,366 households. It's the first PPA for Centrica Energy in the Estonian market, where the Country is looking to more than double the share of electricity consumption met by renewables from 19% in 2020 to 40% in 2030. 💚🔌 PPAs such as this one provide price certainty for operators, enabling further expansion of renewable energy development. Last month, our Portugal Country Manager, Jorge Adelino F. attended an event organised by the Country's transmission system operator REN, on the importance of balancing market services and the upside that can be made on top of the proceeds made by wind and solar farms. ☀ Portugal is one of the leading nations in its renewable energy generation and commendable targets, aiming to generate 85% of its annual electricity usage from renewable sources by 2030. Storage, in our view is pivotal in supporting the increase in renewables with stand-alone battery storage systems having the ability to provide critical, fast reacting, balancing services to the electricity grid. 🔋 As a battery storage Developer first mover, our aim is to deliver over 2GW of BESS projects in the next 5-7 years in Portugal and have been working on securing land in prime locations to connect directly into the electricity grid. 🔌 We are encouraged by the news that primary regulation frequency reserve services are expected to be remunerated in 2026 which will be a real catalyst for the BESS market in Portugal and we are excited by how our projects can support the transition. We encourage the future Government to implement the much needed National Storage Strategy and to amend the Storage target from 1GW to a minimum of 2GW in the PNEC 2030 National Plan. #portugalenergytransition #bess #storage

EY's 63rd Renewable Energy Country Attractiveness Index (RECAI) has named the United States as the leading market for renewable energy investment, driven by significant solar installations and federal support for grid upgrades. China and Germany follow in second and third places respectively, with China advancing due to legislative support for renewables, and Germany maintaining strong participation in solar PV auctions. Other notable countries include France, Australia, and the UK, with India needing substantial investment to meet future targets. Despite global clean energy investments reaching $1.8 trillion in 2023, the report indicates that this is insufficient to meet the required targets for 2030, highlighting the need for improved infrastructure and further investment, especially in battery energy storage systems. https://lnkd.in/guYpS6BJ #RenewableEnergy #EnergyTransition #OdinGlobal

📃 We have updated the description of procedure for the use of electricity transmission grid. This will help renewable energy developers smoothly and successfully implement ongoing projects, while also simplifying procedures for newcomers. ✅ In the improved description, we have clarified the document provisions, reduced risks for developers and financial institutions that provide resources for them, and detailed the power plant management processes. Additionally, we have eliminated redundant requirements, streamlining the development process for renewable energy projects. 🔆 The updated description of procedure for the use of electricity transmission grid aligns with Lithuania’s strategic goals and the aim of National Energy Independence Strategy to generate all necessary electricity from local renewable energy sources by 2030. ⚡Jovita Kildienė, Head of Customer Service at Litgrid’s Renewable Energy Integration Centre, emphasizes that the favorable regulatory environment for green energy development is one of Lithuania’s competitive advantages in the region: “The current regulations allow renewable energy projects to be initiated in Lithuania faster than in neighboring countries. As a result, we have already signed agreements on renewable energy projects that would cover more than 100% of the country’s consumption after their implementation.” #RES #EnergyTransformationPartners #Renewables #EnergyIndependence
