G’day everyone, I’m just sharing a recent post about "Moral injury." See below! This book is brilliant; the explanation of what causes moral injury on page 31 resonated deeply with me. If you are involved in mental health, a veteran or first responder, work for a veteran organisation or similar, or know a veteran or first responder, I would recommend having a read and providing feedback. It's in draft looking for feedback, and while not every situation presented will resonate, I believe its language is great, and this book is a valuable tool. Veteran suicide prevention starts upstream. A VETERAN IS NOT DEFINED BY AGE The Ministry of Defence (MOD) defines a veteran as: “anyone who has served for at least one day in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces (Regular or Reserve), or Merchant Mariners who have seen duty on legally defined military operations.” Under the definition, veterans have already left the Armed Forces.
