Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the enduring spirit of Black Americans. It is a day to honor and acknowledge their struggles and celebrate their contributions to the United States of America. It is a day to reflect on our history, both triumphs and injustices, and reaffirm our commitment to building a more equitable and inclusive society. Such an important day should remind us that diversity and inclusion are more than meeting hiring targets or checking boxes. They are about creating a workplace culture where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives and talents. They are about recognizing and celebrating our differences while also finding common ground and building bridges of understanding. Celebrating cultural events like Juneteenth is an essential part of this process.
