Another inspiring day with students from Pathfinder Regional Vocational Technical High School preparing them for one of Country Bank’s upcoming Credit for Life Fairs. During the orientation, we walked through budgeting, managing expenses, and planning for real-life financial decisions. This week, they’ll put their skills to the test and experience what it takes to make smart choices for their financial futures. Looking forward to seeing their growth and excitement as they navigate their first steps toward financial independence! 💚

🎥 Today kicks off National Student Transfer Week, and we’re excited to highlight University of California, Santa Cruz's innovative project funded by the new ATI Grant.
In this video, Chancellor Cynthia Larive shares how UCSC is working with Hartnell College to enhance transfer support systems for low-income students in the Monterey Bay region.
In collaboration with Hartnell College, UCSC is enhancing transfer student support systems to create clear, achievable pathways for low-income students in the Monterey Bay region. This initiative aims to more than double the number of Hartnell students transferring to UCSC over the next five years by providing:
🔹 Targeted advising and peer mentoring
🔹 Clear curricular maps
🔹 Paid internships for career readiness
🔹 Holistic support before, during, and after transfer
Over the next five years, the initiative aims to double the number of Hartnell students transferring to UCSC and boost two-year graduation rates. By building strong partnerships and support systems, UCSC and Hartnell College are creating opportunities for students to earn high-value degrees and access living-wage careers, driving economic mobility in the region. 🌱
This project, delivered in partnership with Aspen Institute College Excellence Program, Ithaka S+R, and funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies, is a game-changer for students in the region and sets a model for strengthening transfer systems nationwide.

250. The number of First Gen Scholars we serve on an annual basis.
6,000. annual total of first-generation, low-income students in the County of San Diego who meet the requirements to apply for a four-year university, each with the potential to make a significant impact.
50%. The percentage of first-gens each year in San Diego who DO NOT apply for this opportunity.
If you were the first in your family to go to college, we hope that the stories that our Scholars resonate with you.The question to ask yourself is… what if YOU had First Gen Scholars…where would you apply? Where would you attend?
This fall, while we have 16 Scholars from all over San Diego attending Ivy Leagues, Stanford and USC (almost all on full rides), what we are most proud of is that 8 out of every 10 of our Scholars are on track to graduate with no debt!
Our summer program is fully funded by the school districts, we have made a promise to support our Scholars year-round. In addition, we have over 700 Scholars currently in college that we continue to support.
Our goal is to create that talent pipeline to fulfill the 20K priority sector jobs so that scholars may have thriving careers and build generational wealth for their families. You can play a pivotal role in supporting First Gen Scholars by donating today.

The 250 students we serve each year represent just a fraction (1/24th) of the San Diego students who are eligible and deserve the opportunity of a higher education.
If you are a local San Diego Company or organization, we are developing a more robust high school and college internship program and we would love to meet with you to see what that partnership could look like.
Thank you for your support.
A special shout out to the LOCAList San Diego and Fox 5 San Diego for highlighting us, and to John Lee and Venture X San Diego for allowing the use of your beautiful space.
