I’m canceling Slack and going back to emails. Said no one ever. In other words, is Slack the next step in the evolution of internal communication? Seriously, do you know anyone who gave up Slack and went back to emails? I realized that I don’t. But would honestly like to talk to someone from a team that did. So if my hypothesis is right, does it mean that Slack will replace internal emails entirely? For me, it seems similar to going back from email to fax in the nineties. How does it work? 🔌 From Slack: 1️⃣ /ask (followed by your question) 2️⃣ You'll redirect to a private DM channel with Basewell 3️⃣ Responses populate as the first threaded comment (so info is always easy to find) Everything stays synced, too, across all apps. That means questions (even those that don't originate from Basewell directly) are available in your workspace's activity page. Kudos to Slack! Strategic time management is the most underutilized tool in business today. It’s so simple, but routinely ignored. Why? Simply put: We idolize business and efficiency is hard to measure. We all routinely fall into the trap of completing quick tasks, attending meetings, etc... and suddenly the a workday, a week, a month or longer has gone by. Short term needs always get prioritized and while it feels like it’s necessary in the moment, it actually gets in the way of the initiatives that drive results. If you want your team to excel, help them allocate time toward the things that will boost productivity and results long term. Encourage meeting free days, reserve project time for strategic initiatives, and making time for training that will boost performance. To all the negative comments about employees “slacking off”… if you don’t trust the people on your team to use dedicated training time correctly then you have bigger issues at hand. Slack obviously trusts it has the right people and will undoubtedly see a significant improvement from this move. #timemanagement #training
