Business Development Manager, Brightmine | People Data, Analytics and Insight for Brighter Business Outcomes.
The King has spoken... "The new UK government plans to bring in sweeping new changes that would extend equal pay rights to ethnic minority and disabled workers. For the first time, companies with 250 employees or more would have to report ethnicity and disability pay gaps" Gender has finally secured an RSVP for it's friends to get an invite to the party! Want the capacity to be on top of this throughout the year as opposed to an unrealistic HR & Reward sprint in February/March to publish in April? Brightmine has this covered with our Pay Equity Analytics tool (I promise we're not fortune tellers, we just know what HR & Reward professionals need!). #humanresources #ethnicityreporting #disabilityreporting #genderpaygapreporting #raceequalitybill #UK

Do you know that the gender pay gap in the U.S. has resulted in a staggering $61 trillion loss for women since 1967, as reported by the Center for American Progress? Current projections indicate that if we continue at this pace, women working full-time won't achieve pay equality with men until 2056. Here's what needs to be done: ✅ Raise the minimum wage and eliminate the tipped minimum wage. ✅ Enact paid family medical leave and paid sick time. ✅ Improve access and protections for collective bargaining. ✅ Enhance representation of women in higher-paying roles through workforce training and education. ✅ Boost wage transparency in job postings and prohibit salary history questions. ✅ Increase funding for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) to strengthen anti-discrimination enforcement. ✅ Recognize caregiving for both children and adults as a vital workforce infrastructure deserving of public investment. #paygap #genderpaygap #genderequality #womeninbusiness

With the launch of our new briefing ‘The Feminist Future of Work’, we’re highlighting the potential impact of the Labour Government’s new Employment Rights Bill on women’s working lives. With over 1.47 million women set to gain access to sick pay and protections from exploitative zero-hours contracts, women have most to benefit from the new worker’s rights laws. We know, however, that to genuinely improve women’s working lives, the government must go further and address the impact of unpaid care work. Dr. Sara Reis, Deputy Director of WBG, states: “These new provisions could help reduce the gender pay gap and economic inactivity, building a feminist future of work where women are paid fairly, can work flexibly with security, and are free from discrimination.” WBG calls for continued reforms, including: • Extending sick pay to self-employed women • Improving childcare and social care systems • Ensuring flexible work and introducing a new model of parental leave • Restoring access to legal aid in employment discrimination cases Let's work together to create a fairer future for all women in the workforce. 💼💪 Learn more https://lnkd.in/erk9miq8 #FeministFutureOfWork #EmploymentRightsBill

The US Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that in 2023, only 37.4% of disabled workers were in management, professional, and related occupations compared to 43.9% of non-disabled workers. The 2024 #NDEAM theme is “Access to Good Jobs for All," and it is clear that disabled employees face inequities in the workforce. Employers should value disabled employees and strive to create diverse and equitable workplaces. Let #NationalDisabilityEmploymentAwarenessMonth serve as a reminder to evaluate ways you can increase accessibility and inclusion within your company. #NDEAM2024
