Happy New Year!!! Lets Talk Firestop!! Firestop systems are designed to compartmentalize buildings and prevent the rapid spread of fire. When a fire occurs, it generates intense heat, flames, and smoke. Without proper seals, fire can quickly pass through penetrations such as cable trays, piping, ducts, or electrical conduits, compromising the fire-rated barrier. By installing approved firestop materials, a reliable seal can be created, preventing the passage of fire and heat, thereby containing the fire within a specific area and buying occupants valuable time to evacuate safely.
