Rolls-Royce SMR’s auditing programme continues to gather momentum as work begins in earnest on Step 3 of the Generic Design Assessment by the UK nuclear industry’s independent regulators. Following ISO 9001 certification in 2023, Rolls-Royce SMR has now received ISO 19443 certification – demonstrating a high level of nuclear safety as well as quality culture in the organisation, contributing to operational excellence through continuous improvement. By following the best practice principles found in ISO 9001, ISO 19443 certification helps standardise requirements throughout the nuclear supply chain providing improved quality, time and costs. Dave Rasdell, Rolls-Royce SMR Assurance Manager, said: “Gaining this certification demonstrates that we have the appropriate systems, tools, and specialists in place to deliver our mission whilst ensuring nuclear safety is at the forefront of everything we do. “The certification process was a detailed in-depth assessment of our management system which recorded a number of areas of good practice, and this achievement is a validation of the excellent work and outstanding efforts of all involved.” #RollsRoyceSMR #SMR #ISO19443 #Nuclear
