Our greatest pride has always been to see our sartorial creativity meets the best Italian artistic expression. For this reason we are sincerely proud to have noticed that, on the occasion of one of his concerts, the immense Maestro Riccardo Muti wore one of our double-breasted suits.

I know many of us seek out loyal customers to explore product innovations and extensions. Seems like an obvious idea. Who better to consult than a brand’s top loyalist. However, research conducted by Giulia Cancellieri, Gino Cattani, and Simone Ferriani, highlighted in the Economist suggests caution. The trio researched attendance of new stagings of traditional operas among opera goers. The research revealed that frequent opera goers were open to novelty in new productions, but they were less keen on radical changes. The work suggests that loyal customers are the least likely to welcome innovation or change in the products or services they love. Therefore, perhaps better to talk to less committed customers about product innovation. And when a brand does innovate, they should be cautious about over promoting the innovation to their loyalists.

A snippet of the collaborative A.I. opera piece, "Song of the Ambassadors" (SoTA), that I composed at the opening ceremony for TED Conferences last year with text by K Allado-McDowell and multimedia by Refik Anadol. This piece explores our ever-changing relationship with A.I., merging traditional art and artificial intelligence. A pretty unique experience! Watch the full experience here: https://lnkd.in/getnrMsR

#INSTANTTURNOFF: Audience Amnesia I remember being at a conference in Budapest where the Conference Chair welcomed us all to Bucharest. Instant Turn off for the audience. There was another Gala evening at Lyon Opera where the well-known TV personality opening proceedings told us how lucky we were to be in this magnificent Parisian Opera House. (She was booed : Lyonnais HATE being compared to Parisians). Some speakers seem to have selective amnesia, when it comes to remembering the audience. It is no good talking about gangsta rap if your audience is mostly made up of Boomers. No good talking about dialling a phone number with a round finger gesture if your audience is GEN Z. Consider who your audience actually are before you take the stage : remember the importance of involving them, asking pertinent questions, and making them feel like active participants rather than passive observers. And especially .. get the names right ! When this little devil was at school in England, my unusual surname was so often mispronounced …that I had to come to live in France for it to be pronounced correctly ! If you are naming people … please ask them beforehand how their name is pronounced, or you will turn them off for life ! #publicspeakingtips #communication #conferences #leadership

Nightlife Articles #40: Why Aren’t Clubs Recognised as ‘National Portfolio Organisations’ like Galleries, Museums and Theatres The time has come to question the outdated cultural hierarchy that places classical arts above contemporary ones. The contribution of clubs to our society is clear—they are hubs of creativity, diversity, and economic activity. Clubs or venues like Fabric, SubClub, Ministry of Sound, and Printworks deserve to be celebrated, protected, and funded in the same way that opera houses and theatres are. Let’s not wait until it’s too late to recognise their value. It’s time to give clubs the support they need to continue shaping the culture of tomorrow. https://buff.ly/3Uahfke
