🌞 Solar Project in Colombia Secures US $113M in Financing 🌞 Atlas Renewable Energy, owned by Global Infrastructure Partners ("GIP"), 🤝 #BID Invest, and #bancolombia, has secured long-term financing for the development, construction, and operation of the 201 MWp Shangri-La solar plant in Ibagué, Tolima, #Colombia. The financing package includes a senior secured loan of approximately US $113M. Expected to be operational by mid-2025, the plant will generate around ⚡404 GWh annually, powering about 214,000 homes. Notably, this is the fourth and largest #solar plant financed by BID Invest in Colombia and marks Atlas Renewable Energy's entry into the Colombian market. As part of Atlas’s partnership with Isagen to develop 1,000 MW of solar projects in Colombia over the next decade, the Shangri-La project will utilize PVH’s Monoline 2P solar trackers, equipped with the SCADA ProInsights system to enhance operational efficiency. Octopus Energy's latest solar investment will save French farmers millions and boost green energy. They've announced a significant new investment in solar power aimed at saving French farmers millions of euros. Through the acquisition of Sungen 10 from ELECO, Octopus Energy will launch 100 rooftop solar projects on French farms. This innovative approach includes building large sheds with solar panels on farmers' land, which they can use for free to store equipment, vehicles, and hay. This initiative not only provides farmers with valuable storage space but also helps them save on construction costs. Looking ahead, Octopus Energy plans to work with ELECO and local partners to develop up to 100 MW of new rooftop solar projects across hundreds of French farms by 2030. Scale and Capacity: - Total Area: The solar park spans 37 square kilometers in the Western Desert near the village of Benban. - Capacity: The park has a planned capacity of 1.8 GW, enough to power over one million homes. It consists of 32 individual power plants operated by different companies. 2. Funding and Investment: - Investment Value: The total investment in the project is estimated at around $4 billion, funded through a combination of public and private investments. - International Financing: The project has attracted significant international financing, including support from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC). 3.
